B Body stiffening

Darious,

Fantastic! It looks great and I'll bet you can't wait to drive it now!

Keep us posted as you get it dialed in...

Well, a ton of adjustments and dialing in to do but the main build is complete and I drove it in limp mode into the Autorama today! It is a strange feeling after so long, it is almost as if I had become used to the idea that it would be a forever project or something. I amView attachment 168689View attachment 168690View attachment 168691View attachment 168692View attachment 168693View attachment 168694View attachment 168695 very pleased with the outcome. I will post numbers once we get to where we have something to report performance wise.

Great Job nice clean build... Happy MoParing

@Darius

Can I ask how much you expect this car to 'owe' you once it's done? I am guessing this is a big dollar build. It's awesome for sure, but I just wonder what it all cost.

Still have not added up all the costs but I did have the car appraised by Auto Appraisal Network and it came back a WHOPPING $152,500!! I am probably close to that but I don't believe I'm over it, unless you want to figure the cost of my time. I did not track my own hours but I have to have 1500-2000 hours over 6 years. If I was PAYING for that time I am sure it would exceed 100k just in that. Hagerty got a copy of that IMMEDIATELY with a request to increase agreed upon value!

I cant believe I missed your thread. I read it all the way through tonight. Very cool stuff.

Dang just read through your build! Great stuff! Hope to see your car a one of the shows, im in northern california.

I have the original GTX grill on the car. I am not real happy with it so I will most likely change it if I can find a better one, maybe one of the repops?

SCORE! Found a repop grill ,painted including the stainless inserts in the swap meet at Mopars At The Strip in Las Vegas for $367.00!!!!!!! I will post pics when I get it on the car

Still struggling with the computer Runs awesome right up to 3000rpm and goes limp. Will post when solved

Darius i bought a 07 charger and plan on building a 69 charger. Did you have to get your ecu programmed? if so where? did you have to do anything special to get the transmission to work?

I posted on your build thread Bro. What transmission are you planning to use? The NAG 1 will work only if you get the tone rings and wheel sensors moved over with the harness. If I had known that I would be driving right now! The Diablo cannot override the factory programming on these issues, at least I have not found anyone who could do it and Chrysler won't even talk about it. I even met a Chrysler engineer at Spring Fling AND at Mopars at the Strip and he could not help me.

I saw several cars with gen3 hemis at these events and NONE of them are running a NAG1. They either have 545RFE's or some other transmission and they ALL had truck engines. The 05 RAM 1500 ECM seems to be the one to use. It sucks being a "pioneer" sometimes.

yes it does i think hot wire has a tone ring package maybe for the rear only do you think that will work?

I ended up with a stand alone TCM that had a speed sensor/ring we mounted at the output end of the transmission. I am not aware of ANYTHING that will integrate with a stock computer system unless the engine came from a car with a manual transmission. I'm sure there is some solution out there but I have been looking for a while now and have not seen it.

It has to do with the program language...canbus vs vss it is like trying to run a Microsoft application on an Apple system.

I got it through Brian (lxmodguy). it was in the $2k range an the price could vary based on your set up. Talk to Brian.

IMG_1409.jpgIMG_1403.jpgIMG_1404.jpgIMG_1405.jpgIMG_1406.jpgIMG_1407.jpgIMG_1408.jpgWell, I got all the stuff to redo the ECM. I also have to change the entire instrument panel so I bought a set of Autometer Arctic white gauges. Here is what I did this weekend. I had to make an attachment ring for each of the smaller gauges, trim the depth of the original "tubes" and make a mounting plate, then make some ABS spacers that I glued to the original ccover so I could use sheet metal screws to hold the new plate on. I still have to line them up but I need to repaint it first.
More to come next week.

White faces look cool against the blue Darius. Well done.

So they value the assembled car at just above the price of parts and have little to no value for 2000 hours labor.... why not jut value it at $50,000 so it cost you 200k to build the car.... if there going to slap you in the face at least feel it... but assessing you're labor for a dollar is what they were aiming for... where's there reasoning ? And who is the governing sanction that regulates them? Or is that them also?

I actually drove the car home from the shop for the first time last nite! We have some tuning to do for sure with the shift points but that is just a matter of playing with the TCM until it is right. WOW does this car haul ***! It handles extremely well also. I will be playing with my shock settings as well to get the ride smoothed out.
All in all I am very happy with the way it turned out . It has been a bitter pill to swallow with the factory stuff not working out. Shame on Chrysler for not wanting to work with us on these swaps! next month we will be tearing the dash out as well as lots of other stuff so we can eliminate the last of the factory harness and install a completely new harness front to rear.
Price to pay for being a pioneer I guess.

love the build ,nothing comes easy ,keep at it ,it will all come out fine .:headbang:
