Mark Motors in beautiful east end of East Liverpool Ohio. Left that location to build a brand new larger shop a few miles away only to close in less than a year.

Some full service gas stations use to stick one in a empty can, turn it upside down in the valve cover and charge you for a quart of oil! "Back in the day".

Some unscrupulous types for sure...
Never had it happen but suspected it
happened a few time with my Mom/sisters...

I know of a couple that had extra oil added too,
overfilling them, was the other deal...

My dad was pissed they didn't check it themselves,
they knew how, just didn't want to get oil on their hands...

My friend and I pulled a Pinto engine with our bare hands....we were young!

Me & a buddy pulled a
1285cc 74 MG Midget engine to do a clutch,
after I blew the **** out of it dumping it, doing burn outs
we pulled it;
with a 1/2 nylon rope (IIRC) from the garage 2x6 truss rafters,
it didn't weigh much thou,
we were pretty much done in less than an hour tops too...
