Back in the day for me is the 1960s...regularly seeing maimed and crippled veterans from WWI and WWII including my maternal grandfather with shrapnel damage to one of his his arms/hand and plates in his skull. Then, seeing family friends and neighbors returning from southeast Asia in the late 1960s and early 1970s and working with WWII, Korean War, and Viet Nam war veterans in the 1980s. Wonderful human beings. Don't forget them. Please keep all veterans in your prayers.
This thread is one of the most entertaining and refreshing I've seen in a long time. I'm glad I waited a while before opening and going thru it. Soooooo many memories. I remember nearly all of the posts - don't have any pics to share but all those that did - thank you! What a great walk down memory lane. Really cool - I hope it keeps up for a long time. I loved it.
BTW - does anyone remember Kresge's - which was a competitor of Woolworth. Had the soda fountain and the whole bit. Cherry cokes, banana splits and all.
