Backyard find 1970 Charger DIY Build

So I noticed that the coolant was low (I wasn't able to see any in the radiator) So I filled it up, All of a sudden water starts pouring out the passenger side of the motor... I couldn't tell where it was coming from so I let it dry and then slowly poured some water in the radiator. Water is coming from behind (not above!) the exhaust manifold gasket, is there a freeze plug or something behind there? The cylinder on the right is at the front of the motor.

Does anyone have the front and rear window measurements for a 1968-1970 charger? I’m replacing the top and want to make sure everything is all good before I weld! Thanks

$2300 is a total score. Son of a bitch, man...you did quite well.
Where is the rust? In the trunk?
The water leak is a not a difficult fix in itself but be prepared for a fight getting the old exhaust system off without breaking anything. You should soak every nearby nut and bolt with PB Blaster before doing any disassembly!

So the current offer is $5000 ? I'll go $6000
If you have damaged heads I have a set of 1968 or 69 383 hp 906 heads hanging around the garage! But I'm literally the farthest away in FL !

I have $6500 in cash laying around. Save you the trouble of fixing that coolant leak.

Iron built can have it ! I don't want to get on his bad side!

Ha ha ha, I can't sell her, she's too cool. Plus my girlfriend would kill me she's more excited about this car than I am. I'll post some pictures of the rust in a couple days, rad I'm glad there's a confirmed freeze plug behind there. I'll soak the crap out of it in penetrating oil again when I get home.

I wonder if I can take a dremel and just cut the gasket... it would be a lot easier and I'd probably break less stuff. Trying to just get it running. I plan on taking the whole motor out and tearing it apart some day. But not today

Okay, now we need a picture of aforementioned girlfriend since she sounds WAY cooler than you.:lol::lol:
You can definitely cut that gasket to access the freeze out plug, just prepare yourself for a nightmare if you ever remove the exhaust and try to reuse that gasket. Good luck.

Awesome find and a great deal!

I do want to warn you about some trouble I had with the Right Stuff rear disc brakes. The rotors I received with the kit wouldn't clear the knurl on the wheel stud. They looked like they seated and everything appeared to fit well. However, I wound up with a slight shimmy on the rear end and eventually wound up loosing lug nuts and wheel studs. Come to find out, the rotors didn't clear the (stock) wheel stud knurl and wound up damaging my rear axle shafts...

Just a heads up, they may have switched to different rotors now but I'd hate to see this happen to someone else.

Thank you for the info ! That is really good to know. I'll let you guys know what happens. In the mean time I'm just going to cut the gasket. Tuesday when I get home

Ok then I'll go $6700 but remember it's Canadian but I've increased the price .
I've also heard Iron is a big dude so I'll pay him in Canadian beer .
If you could send the heads and have them ready when he picks up that would be good .
I only doing this to help everyone out .
