Proform Mopar Licensed Electronic Distributor Conversion Kits 440-427 does not die just stays around that rpm and breaks down. missing and popping but pretty good to that point.​

Wires reversed on coil + & - ?
Good ground to the ECU with paint scratched off and a star washer. Do you have another 4 pin ECU to try?

it is possible if the valve springs have sat with load i.e rockers held a few valves open for a long time. they have weakened . you would need to test the valve springs.
