i have a question for you guys...I have a standard cast crank I'm putting in a '73 440. I picked up a 440source damper with the removable weight, and a B&M flex plate with the "C" cut out of it. That should be the right set up from what I've researched, yet when I had it all spun on a computerized balancer machine for kicks, the computer says I need a couple ounces in the back and 11 more ounces up from. What gives?

'Mom' didn't exactly balance her cranks all that well especially cast cranks and if they came from a regular passenger car that rarely was going to see more than 3000 or so rpm, then it wasn't an issue. Balance it.....

Gotcha....was able to put a larger weight in the damper. Now they only have to add 5oz to the front.

One more thing....I had a new weighted torque converter. It mad things worse before pulling the motor. I knocked the weight off. Do all converters start off neutral balanced before the weight is added?
