Ballpark estimate for the cost to do a 5.7 Hemi swap in a '70 Charger

Wow nearly 3500$ for a front accessory kit. Doesn't even look like that much comes with it. I also wanted to do a hemi swap but I've settled on a supercharger LA engine instead.
you going torquestorm? I'm hoping my 318 holds up through next year then i am doing a stroker, unless i find a good block sooner. I don't need crazy power, just want something i can beat on and not worry bout blowing up :)

I went with a Paxton for 3500$ no carb.

One thing that I have noticed is that to get decent power, the 3G Hemi can still sound pretty tame. An old school engine has noticeable lope to it.
I like the lope, even if the engine isn't as powerful. For me, the feel, sound and smell is more important than overall performance. I'm not racing anyone competitively.

i can't get into how the new motors look.. love how they run.. but i keep the hood open on my car all the time in the garage (habit of unhooking the battery when i park it til i trust the car, i'm crazy) And i look at that motor everytime i walk by and think, damn that's pretty :)

Someone mentioned the 3.6l v6 (i think in this thread) I have that motor in my 2018 jeep and i LOVE that motor.. with the 8spd trans in a heavy *** grand cherokee it just gets up and moves, gets great milage and has never given me a single issue other than a small water pump leak which i am ignoring right now.

I agree, the coil on plug system is efficient but ugly. The plastic intake manifolds are ugly too.
I love the look of a 426 Hemi though despite them being as big and heavy as my ex wife.

I have hemi fever soooo bad.... funny thing is i don't need more than like 450hp.. and i can do that with a small block.. but... still want one.. I will polish it and stare at it and smile :)

Is this too much to ask...

And this thread got hijacked well :) BTW.. this is my first small block out of 20+ mopars... i don't hate it so far.. i can pull the headers without lifting the motor or any fight at all :) and tons of room for plugs/working on ****

There is no hijack here so far. I did state that I was considering all options....
Although for ME, none of those options include a slant six or a turbo.

haha nevermind.. i forgot this was your thread, was thinking i was in another....

Just went and read the first post... Here is what i would honestly do... and i wish i had that car.... I would find a cheap 400 ($500 or less) get a 500 inch kit... trickflows (sorry but why keep factory heads when there are sooo much better, although not cheap) and you would will be in way less than a new hemi swap... 3.55s for highway, with plenty of torque for showing off.

OR.. 4.10s/4.30s with a 5speed (if you don't hate a stick or cutting the floor.. cause it would be AWESOME)

On top of that.. you know how to do it all already, it will be a damn pretty motor which won't make you cringe everytime you open the hood. If my car started as a BB i would have done that. (i have a spare 727 BB pushbutton for when i do switch one day already)

yes. If you have to ask, it is too much.
oh i'm aware.. i figure even to build a street hemi and get it in a car and running.. 35-40k. Prestige has a crate kit for like 28k. Thing is.. that's INSANE.. if i needed power i would build a 400 and be done. Right now i need to get off my *** and get a shop to do a 408 for me though :) I wanna get the car all setup before adding power though.

so.. stroked 400, with heads and all that.. gonna not be cheap.. figure 7kish.. still less than a swap. leave the stock heads and save 3k... put that towards the trans :)

I recall a suggestion for electric conversion as well....
