In ICU.
Partially collasped right lung. Long story short, wife again brought up she didn't like our house, wanted to sell, and move out. Why? Too big, 2000+ sq. ft., grass not green enough, on and on. House is paid for, semi-country, with the shop ($42,000 building/elec.), that was pretty much free.
She got mad, because I got mad, she went off, I got drunk, and madder.
Finished fixing supper, and picking up my plate, I went down. Guess that's somehow how I poked a 1/2" hole in my lung. She had just come back, after it happened, ambulance came and hauled me away.

Ouch! Sorry to hear this. I used to have an unhappy wife. Now have a happy girlfriend and kept my house and garage...

WTF....Hope you get back on your feet real fast and get about doing what you love doing in life. Its to short as it is. The house is paid for, whats wrong with that?? That's a plus in my book. Green lawn?.....doesn't she realize you live in Texas, lawns don't stay green long there unless you want a mortgage payment for the water bill to keep it green. No more making dinners, just go out and pick it up:D. The extra out-building is a dream for most of us and our hobby. Try taking the wife on a nice 7-9 day cruise on Royal Caribbean. Very relaxing and it may make her happy and have second thoughts about wanting to sell. Good Luck and take care.:drinks:

miller, I too hear crap like that periodically. I guess that's how " selective hearing" is developed. And "it only takes 100% more to go first class" is something that comes easy for them.
I don't see anything wrong with the living room carpet, the couch or the comforter.
Road trip!

Send her up to PA. I'll give her a pushmower and turn her loose on my 4 acre yard full of green grass. I wish it would turn brown.......Hope you figure it out and recover fully.

My wife wasn't happy with me either and the feelings were mutual. I wanted to move out of the city and she wanted to stay near the kids. Well, she now lives right next door to the youngest (30) and I hope they're happy now because I sure am!

Glad to hear your still on this side of the dirt.
Lung injuries are terrible, every breath hurts like hell.

I feel your woes. I live in an old house that's paid for. Nothing feels better than not having to make bank payments.
My old lady hates it but has nothing to contribute monetary wise. If we didn't have a young son Id tell her not to let the door hit her in the ***.

Ouch no good..I hope you're doing better and have a quick and total recovery

Get better. Happened to me getting down on creeper at work(1/4 collapsed). Thought I had a pulled muscle at the time. Good luck with the rest of it.

Hope you're feeling better soon Miller. Wives sure can try a man's patience. We have similar 'discussions' and her mood or position on the subject of our current house changes like the wind. The last house I had before we met wasn't 'open' enough for her, so despite having built a new heated woodshop and completed years of renovations to the 1854 house, we sold it. She only gets one of those! We are good friends and generally get along well, but these things can add some unwanted stress and demotivate current and future home improvement projects. I have no desire to move from our nice country property unless there's a big heated shop already built on a prospect.

Tough as nails comes to mind after reading this!
Kids today would milk this for the rest of there life probably sue there parents for some reason (lung wasnt made right) then ride out the gov free be wagon !

Glad your ok ! Green spary paint will fix that grass !

Maybe it's time for another road trip to Halsell? We can drink a few brown bottle loud mouths, hunt some hogs, shred some tires and then fix all the world's problems. May not be any better when you get home. But you'll be rejuvenated to face the battle!

Steve disagrees? Does that guy simply live to play Devil's advocate on every issue?
Quite a story, Miller. That really sucks. I didn't understand exactly how the lung was punctured...By a fork or knife? By a broken plate?

I’ve had a few surgeries - about a dozen to be exact. By far the most painful one I had involved a collapsed lung. Extremely painful condition. Glad you survived the incident and are on the mend.
