Been out a few days

Don't know your full situation, but maybe she's looking to downsize a little so as to have less maintenance. The older you get, the harder and longer it will take you to do everyday chores. That might be what she's looking at.

Either way, hope you get well soon

Get well soon @miller ...sounds painful. Keep smiling and get back to us when you can.

Keep smiling and get back to us when you can.
A little hard on the smiling, right now. And I guess I'm not that easy to get rid of.

But, to paint a clearer picture...6-7 years ago, now, we had lived 20 years in Denton, Tx. Mainly because of the college, town was going to hell real quick, those last years. I had been retired for several years, wife on the verge of retiring, and we decided to retire to the country, away from all the bs. Looked all over N. Texas for a house, dozens, in our limit, most had foundation problems.
Finally found this place, on one acre, nicest, and biggest house on this little gravel road. Shop (30x30) was only 3 months old, but the couple selling needed to sell. He too, was a Mopar guy, but had health issues. For what we paid for the house alone, I figure the shop was free!
Selling our Denton house, paid for this one, plus. We've been together 49 years, now, both retired, comfortable, but not rich. And like I told her, I'm too damn old to move again. As far as I'm concerned, I'll live out my days here.
House too big for two, too much to keep clean...somebody give me a damn break. Got kids, and grandkids, that come by now and then, no motels for miles, but room to stay.

Hurting, so done.

First and foremost get better and best of health to you and your wife. Pacify her by telling her lets go slow, sometimes people get a idea and want to act on it immediately. Try and convince her of the pros and cons.
I want to move at some point, my mother in law is 93 and still lives alone although were there constantly doing chores, cooking, wash. My wife health is not great so a lot falls on me. I hope mom lives to see triple digits as i going to miss the old lady and how many guys can say that about there mother in law
The thing is when she goes there is not much left on the rock for me. The island has changed and not to my liking.
My wife loves this house, we have been working on it for over 40 years and it is pristine. But its to much and i want more property. Still my wife goes to a hospital in the city so the reality is I'm going nowhere anytime soon
Your wife just may want a change, see if you can strike a balance, maybe there is a project she would like done, a improvement possibly. Best of luck and feel better!

Really appreciate all the get well's, guys! Make's it a little easier.

In honesty, could walk into a new $250,000 house, she'd find 'something'. Been trying for year's to get some kind of hobby. She's a good 'ole gal, was smart as a whip, doing the job she did. At least until the government got in the middle of the mortgage business. Hell, she used to straighten out some of the lawyers!
After retiring, she kinda got lost...

My lung bit, looks like when I went down, side hit something, broke the cartilage on one rib...that poked the 1/2" hole in my lung.
Now, where the hole, 4" under my armpit is, same rib, keeps moving, and hurting each time. Have to get looked at.
