340 six pack? 400? Did they come from the factory with 440? And hemi? I thought Hurst did the hemi cars and mr norm made the 440 cars. Or something like that.

I'm pretty sure 99.9% of you guys know all this, they did have 340ci's {no 6bbls or Six Packs yet that was mid year 69-1/2 to 71 & in mid size cars only & 440ci, 340 6bbl & Six Pak (spelled differently even) came in 70 TA Challenger & AAR Cuda' for meeting SCCA Homologation rules only then de-stroked to 305ci to meet the 5.0 liter rule, then only select Mr. Norm cars} & no 400ci was NOT made in 1968 {not until 1972 when the 383ci was phased out for smog regs} & yes they mostly all were out-sourced to Car Craft, Mr. Norm, Baldwin Motion, Hurst or Chrysler Engineering specialty or Racecar engineering dept.'s or some other company...

No harm no foul.
Good thread.
GO CHALLENGER!!!!
Damit, nobody is voting for the Chally. I like what I like.
I'll still take the 69 RR over the 70 RR but the 70 is hot.
Not sure if it's a 71 but just look at it. C'mon.

I always liked the Challenger! A little more "stylish" imo than the cuda. I worked on almost all of these cars back in the day. Looks were one thing, driving was another. If they had both, you had an all around car. The Challenger did that for me.

Well if you are going year specific. The 70 e bodies could be had with everything available that year. Slant 6 all the way up to hemi. 340 4 bbl and six pack. 440 4 bbl and six pack.

But still No 400ci... he he ha ha

IIRC a 70 Charger could get any of the engines from 225ci, 318ci 2bbl, {340ci ?? don't think so} 383ci 2bbl & 4bbl, 440ci in 4bbl & Six pack, 426ci Hemi 2x4bbl... no 360ci or 400ci yet... I'll go all Budnicks on ya !! for the 70 fans

With only the 68-70 my pick/picks...
69 Road Runner
70 Road Runner
68-70 Dodge Charger

My personal opinion: All 1971 models across the board were the best-styled Mopars ever, tied by the 68 Charger.

70 Road Runner for me but would have been a tough choice if you had the 68 R/T on the list. Luckily for me I don't have to choose :)

x2 ...gotta love that '70 Roadrunner/GTX line :headbang::headbang::headbang:

What is better than this? Brownlie at Chrysler came up with the Coke-Bottle 2nd gen Chargers. John Herlitz designed BOTH the 70 'Cuda and 71 Roadrunner. Two grand slams. Timeless Legends. I don't own either. But would like to. Done in clay. Not computer bull$hit designs - like the ugly new Vette by Committee.

Over time my taste have changed a bit. When I was little the 71 Charger was my favorite mostly because of a man named Petty. Then for many years I loved the 68-70 B Bodies with anything 1970 topping my list. Now I am starting to come full circle & have a big admiration for 71-72 Mopars. I guess I love them all.

no votes for the 68 GTS, I know it's a B-Body site, but I'm kind of surprised by that {only 56 posts & 79 votes, with 837 views}, I always thought of the Dodge's 68-69 GTS's as a little RR with 383's, if they could fit more tire under them I would have had a bunch more of them probably... just an observation, this was merely Brian's top 10, not necessarily the Mopar top 10...

:sSig_lol3: obviously or the 68 RR would be on that list for sure... :brainfart:

I admire the 68 GTS. Its just that it not in my top 3 of favorite Mopar muscle cars. If I owned a 68 GTS it would be driven, but not as much as any B body in the stable.

I will be the bastard child here and trump all of you. It's a gorgeous 66-300 as most people seem to forget that it's a muscle car! Drool on this! P4250413.jpgChrysler%20300%201966%20lilas.jpgef01_4.jpg
