BFG RWL leaching brown?

There's a reviewer on TireRack.com that claims that the Raised White Letters on BFG tires "turns brown after only a few weeks". Reviewer claims that BFG is having a problem with color "leaching through" on the RWL.
Has anyone heard this before?
Does anyone here have any recent experience purchasing BFG Radial T/A's with RWL's?
If so, how do they look?

Yes. Bought tires late last year for my GTX, they are doing it. They are fine but you have to keep cleaning them. Brake cleaner seems to work.

The white oxidizes when exposed to air/oxygen. You need to keep cleaning them or find a way to seal them from the O2.

I have the same brown BFG letters. Will clean up with old school cleanser for a while.

From what i have heard, bfg T/As are prone to this problem. I have a s3t on my car, but the letters are on the inside, and i havent looked at mine. I heard that the easiest way to clean the letters was acetone and a brush.
Keeping whitewalls clean can be a challenge too. Look at my avatar and ask me how i know, lol. I use bleche-white. It worked for years, but i just cant get them white anymore.

Mate I've got this exact issue at the moment - I contacted BF Goodrich and the vendor and all they said was to try cleaning them with some liquid Jiff and a scotchbrite pad. The rears are worse (245/60R14) than the fronts (215/70R14), and I read during my research that certain sizes were affected worse than others for some reason. They did improve with cleaning (especially the fronts) but they're still not perfect and I'm disappointed as the 10 year old Cyclone Radial GT's that were on the car when I bought it still had perfect letters despite never being cleaned for at least 4 years before I replaced them. You can see how brown the rears were in the attached photo (ignore the children's silly faces) compared to the Cyclones.

I have the same issue on my Barracuda. I replaced the fronts after buying because the previous owner hadn't rebuilt the front suspension and wore the inner edges off the front tires.

Weird thing is the old original 245/60-14 on the rear stay white and nice. The new 225/60-14 in front turn brown like mentioned in this thread. I wondered why this was happening. Sounds like others are having the same issue. I use Bleche White to keep them looking white.

Well, that explains the really old tires (like my spare) that looks like chocolate on the sidewalls.

I just looked at my 3 year old Michelins on my old daily pickup truck (which never gets any cosmetic cleaning; it's my work-horse). RWL on those Michelins is still nice & white!!

Unfortunate that BFG (& M/T) can't seem to manufacture RWL that stay W.
