"Blind in Texas" '71 Dart build

Well; building a car in Canada sure sucks with the dollar! So the 1700.00 U S,turned into 3030.00 Oh Canada! At the end of the day! Thankfully I have most of the parts I need now. View attachment 251229

Welcome to the (foreigners') club, man. For me here on the island it's better financially to built an "import" than it is to a "domestic". Same amount of money, same amount of waiting time incl. for wrong parts to be returned and sent back..... only redeeming situation is the amount of fuel used. That's in favour of the import.

It's all going good! TTI headers are great, the Schumacher mounts are absolute garbage, for anyone doing a swap. Your better off making them!IMG-20150905-00941.jpgIMG-20151003-00968.jpgIMG-20151003-00967.jpgIMG-20151003-00969.jpg

Yes,on the other side is a steel plate with a stud like the one in my hand. About as well bonded as a ham and cheese!

lol Yea the Biscuit type aren't as good as the Spool type But you got to make it work some times.

I haven't had much time lately, very busy with work. Just getting the engine ready to run,I hope to have it running by Christmas. I did get the shifter set up,the cable column shift works great!IMG-20151016-00974.jpgIMG-20151016-00976.jpg

I'm still in the process of getting it running. Doing a clean up on the cluster and replacing the boards.IMG-20151028-00995.jpgIMG-20151028-00996.jpg

It wasn't a bad swap, going from the '71 to '69 dash. Very pleased with how it turned out.IMG-20151030-01003.jpg

The "to do" list is starting to get checked off! I put in the front end tie rod ends. The only thing left in brakes and suspension is the shocks. Everything sure is a tight fit! lolIMG-20151102-01005.jpg

I'm waiting on a buddy to come over to do some wiring, can't wait to get it fired up!IMG-20151108-01013.jpg

I have it running. I went with one of those ready to run distributors, and the module quit after a couple minutes cranking it over. So we backtracked through the wiring looking for a problem. Thinking there is no way it could be the dist, because we did have spark. After hours of frustration and making a mess of the wiring,I took out the dist, and bench tested it with a different module. Sure enough it was the problem. I decided to bypass it,and use a msd box. Some more wiring to sort out,but the engine sounds good, and the wiring is getting closer! I hope everyone here has a merry Christmas!
