very nice home, enjoy an good luck.
I want at least 20 acres. Looking for an ag exemption of some kind. I'm tired of paying 3000 bucks a year taxes for a modest home on 1/2 acre. I'll take 160k for mine! 1800 sq ft 3 bedroom, 2 bath, fireplace, 1500 sq ft shop on 1/2 acre on a dead end road with a 300 foot county easement behind or I'll trade for 20 acres that has a 5000 sq ft metallic building with a well and electricity!
That and the fact I like to shoot off of my back patio!OK, now you're sounding like me. I realize I need to be far away from people!
Amen to that!Congrat's! Nice to see someone finally buying a home instead of someone getting kicked out...
Actual property tax was 2956.36 for county, city, school etc. Yup, way too high and an ag exemption works the same here with the house being separate on 1 acre. The plan is to just have the land with a barn and 'live' in the barn .hey cranky; i got to ask. you are paying 3g's tax's on something you would sell for 160k, wowser. i thought i was paying a lot. i pay a little more than that but i would have to think a bit if i was offered 400k. i get a ag deal but it is only on the vacant land. they appraise your dewelling and 1 ac. and give you the rebate on the farm land if it is used by a valid farm operator. neighbor takes hay off of about 10 ac. of my 30 ac.
- i was thinking of buying something like what you are looking for north of san antoine. my sister is down there in a high end subdivision, universal city, and she says to buy the land and they will sell and build on it with an granny flat for me to winter there. i guess i better get the calculator out first.
i would of got into it eventually with the costs but you started me thinking. i don't mean to steal this thread but i am thinking out loud. rick
Congrats on the new place! I assumed a VA loan when I bought my first house. You do realize that since you are the originator of that loan and if you ever sell it on an assumption that you are still the originator and if the new owner reneges, the mortgage lender will come back to you looking for payment when the new owner disappears, right?House was listed for $259000, was on the market for 5 months...we offered $239000, seller accepted. Used a VA loan so 0 down required..but we put 25k down to lower the financed amount. Still have it financed for 30 years.
