Broke my 7UP Pop Machine today....

Snow stopped for a few minutes, time to get her loaded.

Where planning pays off... I just knew it was gonna snow so backed the car in. I've loaded with them Polyglas caked with snow before.. wasn't doing it again!

A LOT easier to load a car with no door!

So easy to watch the tire path.

I walk the line..

In, running, in PARK and THE PARKING BRAKE SET!

Strapped in and ready to go to Body By Biggs when George gives me a ring. Had better be next week, but at least it's out of the shop and I now have some working room for some other stuff.

His granddaughter double checked the parking brake on HER "SUPER BIRD", part of "pre-flight".:)

The orange wing car from FLA was at MCACN show...they displayed it so the public could see that they were actual real cars before they begin the restoration process. It isn't for sale here.

Hey-O, can you elaborate? Why not fix it? Too much of a loss to sell in that condition?

Wonder what they got for it?

Dang - Dadsbee, I hadn’t paid any attention to this thread as I thought it just involved a pop machine. So much for my curiosity. Didn’t realize it also involved personal injury and damage to one of your cars. So sorry, but looks like you are well on the way to getting it put back in good, original fashion. Hope it all turns out well.

I will never understand why they were left to receive the damages they did. Moving them anywhere would have avoided that. My nephew lives in Florida and made it without damage. Yes, now they should be repaired and he should get a dunce hat.

Oh, they were damaged in a storm. I get you now. Yes, for God's sake, put them somewhere safe.

Thanks Hey-O

If I remember the detail right, he had 6(?) cars total and was able to move the other 4 in time. These 2 were up on lifts and the power went out and he could not lower them.

You never would have left yours there, you're smarter than that. If you or I would have thought there was a chance for a storm, they'd be color me gone.

So, there's a hurricane coming, you've already moved four cars, the power is out, you have two cars still to move but they are on lifts and because you followed the manufacturers recommendation the lifts are lowered onto the safety locks... You need to raise the cars before you can lower the cars... What do you do???? Anyone with the ability to help is probably busy preparing their own home or business for the storm... Yeah It's easy to say you would move the cars but do you really think that's the only thing he had to move.. His whole house & all the contents got destroyed... It's a shame the cars got hammered but it's far from his only problem...

Get the damn cars out the day(s) before...

Torch those safety locks off and let them crash to the ground. Suspension can be replaced for a lot less than the paint and body. If hydraulics are involved, cut the lines and let it sink. Anything other than letting them be swept away.
