since responding to this thread about Bulldog heads about a year ago or so, I have re-built my 499 for the street!..it now has a "virgin" block that was decked 10.720, line honed for Billet steel caps, bored .055 for 4.375 bore..the new pistons are JE's reverse dome 10-1 compr, zero deck....I kept the Eagle Rods and crank, having them re-balanced with the new pistons
other mods were for the Jessel belt drive and rod clearance..the Bulldog heads were gone through once again gaining some CFM and better flow characteristics with the Ferrea valves and new double spring w/ dampers from Comp Cams...the roller cam was reground with less lift and duration...with 1.6 Erson roller rockers, the lift is .689/.692 on a 110 CL...cant give you the rest because I'll have my arms broke!!
has an Indy 440-3X intake, Holley 1050 cfm Dominator, Doug's fenderwell exit headers, MSD Dist, ARP studded through out...
Dyno: we only took 3 pulls but only changed the jets once..the carb is to small..need probably a 1250-1300..more air..670hp @ 7200, torque was 690 lbs. ft...I forgot the rpm...anyways, with the Bulldog heads fully modified, second go around, and neading more carb, my guess is 735hp when all in and maybe more...all pulls were made on 93 pump w/36* ignition locked....its going in my 63 Dodge for the street...
