This past Friday I was at my normal Friday car cruise-show sitting with tpodwdog and a bunch of other people behind my car when something out of the norm happened. So I was sitting behind my car talking when a guy walks around my car twice and asks me a bunch of questions about it and everything which is normal BUT then he comes back and looks at me and says well how much are you asking for it ......Um excuse me? I have NO for sale signs on it or anything ...it has 1 small plaque in it that says I got the car from my dad and its not perfect but its the way he liked and etc. After he asks me how much I want for it I tell me theres no way Id ever sell it and he proceeds to get mad at me .....WTF all I said was no way never ever selling it and he got mad and stormed off ......

Some people are just idiots

I left My car on the front lawn facing My house and went inside for a phone call...came out and the doors were open, hood open, and I asked WTF and they assumed because it was on the lawn,it was for sale. People can be idiots

I had one guy tell me that Coronets, like mine, did not come from the factory with fender mounted turn signal indicators. Then he proceeded to tell his friend that my R/T was a Super Bee. He then told me that a 440 was not standard on a Super Bee, only on a R/T.....I would have thought that the quarter panel stripe with a big R/T on it would have given this guy the hint that it was not a Super Bee (trim) and my plate that reads '1969 R/T'. This is the reason I only go to a few car shows a year.

there's an idiot in my area who buys a lot of cars. he is so stupid he can't check the air in the tires so he has to buy cars already up and running. he drives the cars he buys for a couple of months and then they need attention. he can't fix them so he pushes them off in the weeds and goes and buys another. he has literally camped out in front of my house hounding me because i won't sell him my cars. we've gotten to ugly words because i won't sell the creep my cars. there times i hate car people; especially the wanna be's.

yea my car's motor, hood scoops, ram charger everything is the way it came and Im sick of people thinking its some off the shelf crap I just put on there for the hell of it

Now that is a funny but sadly typical story. I know I had one guy tell me the hood strips on my '69 Road Runner were incorrect because they are painted right up to the windshield chrome. Being a good sport, I played along and asked how they should be done. He said the stripe should go up to a few inches of the windshield and then curve around. There should also be a pin strip outlining the entire stripe on each side. At this point I informed him that he was thinking of GM hood stripes and not Mopar. Yet instead of going 'oh' and moving along, he wanted to argue about it. I swear... :icon_axe:

Had a guy the other day ask me if my coronet was a firebird. I replied to him no and that it doesn't look anything like a firebird. (I should know I've owned 1st and 2nd gen firebirds). He's reply to me was......... Yes it does. I just had to laugh and walk away. If I still had the firebird he'd probably have asked me if it was a coronet.
Some people a???????

I had someone ask me once if my 62' Savoy was a Baracuda......
I do wish i had more people stopping to ask me if my car is for sale. Maybe I'd find a buyer for it then..

Why even bother to lend any credence to what those "experts" say... it doesn't pay to engage in any argument. Sometimes I even amuse myself by asking them about their "expertise"... its funny what comes out of their mouths, it seems like they need to self-gratify themselves, they think they just taught that guy something...

I seem to remember years ago, that's the kind of things, that made going to car shows {unless they are specific make type shows}, not too fun at all anymore, too many damn idiots like that...

Tell the DAWG the next time you see him that Tuck says Hi:icon_fU:...Now to your incident. I quit going to cruises and shows just because of all the *** Clowns that show up and think they are experts on MOPARS. When in fact they are mostly wanna be's and foamers......

I hate it when you go to a show and some people have to look with their hands. :angryfire:

There's a guy I won't name that's always parked at the local Friday night cruise-in's around here, and has his chevy done all pro-street; caged, tubbed, nos tank where the back seat should be, wide slicks, blower through the hood, custom wing on the back, the whole nine. It looks impressive so everyone thinks, based on looks, that it automatically is impressive. Except the nitrous isn't hooked up "just for show," it runs like crap because he slapped a blower on a high compression motor, and it's never even run a quarter mile... "just for cruising" :head_smack:

I understand "to each, his own" and whatever puts a smile on his face is fine by me, but the guy comes off kinda cocky and I'm not a huge believer in "Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements"

What show were you at? Was it the church in Wexford?

Generally I can handle the innocent questions. Ones by kids, women, or guys that are just curious. :headbang: But when it comes to a-hole comments /questions I dish it right back. By the shovel full! :icon_fU:

When I bought my car this winter I dint tell anyone. So a guy I know said he seen me flatbed ding my charger to my shop and he said I wouldn't answer his calls to unlock my gate for him to come check it out. A few days later me and my grandson go down to the shop and he stops and is acting like my x wife. He starts taking pictures of my fender tag and then the build sheet I just removed from the seat. I asked him to stop as this is my car not his, he gets defensive and I told him its none of his business and I don't owe him any explanation on buying the car. I tell him to delete the pictures and he gives me the whatever. We have not spoke since. At one time he told me about selling vins and fender tags. I could go on and on but I will spare everyone with the bullshit.

I had a guy from a big name restoration company come up to me at Carlilse and tell me the exhaust tips on my Superbird was a California option only and my car was incorrect. Most "car" guys i avoid having a conversation with. I don't take a car to shows anymore and at cruise-in's i will cruise on by.
