hi i have a 62 dodge dart with the battery in the trunk ,its an optima i upgraded to a 60amp alt. but it seems that its always charging on the gauge (factory in dash) i'm only running a msd 6al,tranny cooler fan ,afr gauge and a electric fuel pump is there a way to upgrade without to much hassle

I would get a good aftermarket voltage gauge to see what it's putting out first.

Always showing a charging condition says the battery feed line is constantly putting current from the alternator output. Something on that side is loading the circuit. A defective battery might cause that. Also, if you have connected any high current load items direct to the battery or HOT starter relay terminal, that would cause this situation.
