Just why?!?!
Why? Well... my edelbrock performer RPM for a small block cost me $449.... the chinese knock off is $99-139 depending on the day... The edelbrock was machined wrong and wouldn't even bolt to the motor... Edelbrocks RMA service was "well that sucks.. we might have some more in a few months and they might have the same problem still"

So there's just 2 quick reasons as to "why".. i fell for the "Made in the USA" ****, paid over double what the intake should have cost and got screwed.. i have worked in smaller factories and i know what made in america means :)

China is making whole cars now. I think they are called Cherry.
Won’t we be lucky when we can buy them. Probably order right from Amazon.

The 318 guys can get one too. I have seen them as cheap as $99 (IIRC) and now out of stock at that price. :p

In stock with a different seller for $134.10:

I guess it is possible to get a good one.
Probably depends on what 10 yr old kid is casting it.
All joking aside my step brother ordered one from Speedway for a SBC , never could get it to seal . At least he was dealing with a good company and they refunded him.

I bought a $130 Chinese knock off SB version for three reasons.

1- Edelbrock does not make a dual bolt pattern unit. Why?
2- Cost
3- The specific intake was verified by a FABO member to have no or minimal core shift and good fitment and alignment.

I've asked on FxBO for users to share their experiences with the differently branded China made intakes, as I've read all sorts of stories as to which have issues and which do not.
I think a database of that would be valuable. So far, not a lot of participation.

I wonder if that's an actual photo or a 3d rendering or AI rendering.

I was more than disappointed when I found out my wife's Buick Envision was China built. It's a 2018 but so far it has been trouble free. 50,000+ miles and nothing more than oil changes and a new set of wiper blades. That little 2 liter turbo really scats!

I get we have to buy chineseum at times couple years ago I bought brand new name brand brake drums without knowing where they made. I was suprised to see made in China. Since they didn’t seem to offer any improvements over my factory drums I had them turned and used them. The Chinese drums are in my crawl space.

My wish is that I could help in a small way, our country rebuild its manufacturing base. But I think it’s too late, I’m too old and tired.

Use your chineseum intake. But why come on this forum and talk them up? China doesn’t need our help. Our uni-part government and the Chamber of Commerce are there for them.

Paint the thing turquoise and keep quiet.

My post above was edited to remove my political comments. Dang, my objective was to get the whole thread removed.

If it's made in China....

Chinese theft is in everything, there literally isn't a single thing they don't steal and reverse engineer including things that are a threat to our national defense! If you feel fine saving money supporting their theft then more power to you, I won't contribute to it. I have a "anywhere but China policy" in my home, can't always avoid it but I pay extra any time there is an option. That's my personal opinion.

Chinese knock off SB version

Just curious...were there markings on the packaging that said made in China or does the intake have "China" marked on it?

It's packed away for a future project.

Honestly, more than the steep price discount, the real "value" to me, especially for that specific project is the dual bolt pattern.

I've got an LA roller 318 that I want to eventually run magnum heads on and would love to be able to do direct A/B comparisons with.
