Coil wiring & Tach wiring

I just got a 73 road runner with a 400. I have found a couple wires clipped just laying on top of the engine. There is a connector on the negative side of the coil that the wire is broken off. On that same side (passenger) there is a tan wire with a black stripe that goes nowhere. Does this go to the negative side of the coil?

I highly recommend you take a look at a factory wiring diagram. You can go a little cross-eyed looking at them, but you can see what wire "goes where and does what"... HUGE help. Does the car run right now?

I did and there are three wires and they write brown with black stipe in between them.
