Cone Style LSD

@Charlie Brown The small pin is the anti-rotation pin and keeps the cross shaft from rotating in the diff case. Wouldn't hurt to polish the areas a bit where the gears run on it and check the bores of the gears too to make sure they are nice and smooth. The only time those gears turn is when the car makes a turn. One more thing....if the LSD ever becomes a single wheel peel, don't try to make it lock by jumping on the gas thinking that will make it lock because it won't. What it will do is turn it into a piece of junk and pretty fast.

That anti-rotation pin sure seems short to me....
Are the bores for the anti-rotation pin in both carrier halves clean & clear?

I still have one in the cabinet but don't have any bench space right now to take it apart but iirc, there's only one hole for the anti-rot pin. If he were to move the pin flush with the surface of the shaft, I think there's enough to keep it trapped in place.

All looks good. Only one hole in one half of the casing. So I'm assuming that the unit I have does not need rebuilding yet. Thanks to all who responded - I've learned something here.
