Converting stock 69 440 coronet cluster to ralley cluster

Found a really nice restored cluster for sale but my coronet is the base model with rectangular sweep. Is there anything special I need to do to in order to mount the ralley cluster (drill out the mounting tabs). Just curious. Tried searching but no luck. Thanks. Erik.

The wiring harnesses are different between the two. It seems like it would take a lot of work to modify the standard dash frame to rallye. You would be time and money ahead to find a rallye dash frame.

I haven't had to convert one before, but I would agree with BeeKeeper. Either that, or just use a bigger hammer........

Thanks. Yea, don't wanna change the entire frame to just get a ralley cluster. Looks like brushed aluminum and phantom gauges it is. Also, Thomas, I wasn't able to afford a real bee on my salary, making a street machine out of my base coronet.

You can't change to from a standard to a rally unfortunately,

well you can if you really wanted to but like the others said you will need to replace the whole frame for the entire dash along with the harness, so it can be done like that to see it right and be correct, or you can do what a lot of us have done and slightly jazz up the standard cluster

or do a complete custom and cut the fram up and fit in a whole new custom cluster, that has been done many times, but once you do that you can never go back and some mopar loyalist will never forgive you for it.

What's wrong with the original gauges? I think they look as good as any others.

Bigmanjbmopar can you tell what has to be hacked "I mean customized;)" to make a ralley cluster fit in a stock housing? My dash frame is out right now ready to be cut. Or do you guys know people on here that have done the change. Thanks.

I really don't know, other than get a rally cluster set and go from there? maybe the FSM would be able to show you how the frame looks, maybe google some pics? Found these -

Hey thanks big man! I actually found a ralley frame at wildcat auto wrecking. I am going to take measurements from it and trace the opening to make a template. Erik
