Ambient 85 degrees. Radiator top near cap read 195. Why did it purge from the cap and not go into the one of one recovery tank. The hose is not pinched, and I’m waiting for it to cool to see if the cap is properly secured. Time for a cap? Pictures will tell the rest. 7 mile drive ending with about 10 minute idling.
No distinctive shhh when opening, now it won’t replicate the purge. Idling in driveway for ten minutes. AC on. 20 minutes now and gauge reads under 180. I’m gonna call it a fluke and replace the cap.
I'd vote for the cap as well, but I'd also bet your radiator is overfilled. If you don't leave any (or enough) headspace for expansion, it will overflow. Once at the proper level, you should never need that overflow bottle.
I’m a 2” to the top guy. Maybe the shop topped it up. There was a lot of grunge, but the seal looks ok. I blew back through the overflow tube and blew a chunk of something out. I will replace the cap, keep an eye on it and call it a day. Best it happened in the driveway.
