crazy idea for the Javelin

What might work is having a set of custom 'Cuda billboard stripes made up that read 304, and adapting them to the car. Billboards would fit in much better with wide top stripes than the narrow Duster stripe.

the duck tail spoiler i can get at any time...theyre ranging from 250.00 to about 350.00. I HATE THE CHEVELLE STRIPES....but youre right, im stuck with them and i can live with them if i can set them off with something else as long as i can get the 340 stripes and the C stripes in the same color as the chevelle stripes, which is a matte black . i can always peel them back off if it looks stupid.

BRUZILLA : im kinda thinkin that also and im glad you brought it up coz i wanted to see if someone else thought that without me prompting them...and you did.

Must be a Pittsburgh thing.

I think if you trim about 1/2" off the outer edge of the billboards and replace with a gap and outer pinstripe so they match the pattern of the top stripes, you would be good to go.

ok...im gonna look into the billboards. ill be needing the place where you got your bird custom made so i can see is they can make me up some 304 billboards if ya dont mind, thank you!. cost will also be a deciding factor. I LIKE THE WAY YOU THINK !

The place that did my decals mainly does small ones. I would suggest getting in touch with Challenger Gary at http://www.challengergary.com/ He does a lot of custom stripe sets. He could probably make a set of custom billboards for a Javelin that would save you a lot of time and effort.

Dang, that's a good price! I was going to have him make me a set of custom 73/74 road runner stripes but with PITTSBIRD written where the road runner wording is cut out, but ended up going with the stock stripes. I wish I had gone the custom route.

I like the idea. I think it's cool. ChallengerGary over on FABO makes custom stripes. Holler at him and he'll hook you up.

Dawg; personally "I think", if you add a black accent stripe section, at the "bottom of the car, along both side", along the bottom rocker panels & up a few inches, maybe even something on the back tail light panel, you would have to experiment with how wide of a stripe would look good, it could help to break up the orange on the side & not clash with the "Chevelle" stripes you already have on the hood & the louvers your planning on adding... maybe add a front "black" spoiler too maybe add a rear deck "black" little spoiler like Donahue Trans-Am AMX cars had or maybe even tongue in cheek ha ha !!, add a big *** RAMBLER decal on the rear quarters...LOL... like the big *** PLYMOUTH decal on the 70 RR... sorry I couldn't resist Dawg

THE RAT :... i called Gary about making the billboards 125.00 for both sides.

heres the problem i am forseeing with the billboards..... they will be covering alot of real estate....that has a drastic curve to it....like a sphere. ....followin me ?

anyway, i found a rear bumper for it....driver quality but no huge dents in it ( see pix)...eventually i will have it rechromed along with the front one when i find one. i put it on and it looks way better than that mangled piece of mess. i had it out on the road for about an hour tonight just b4 it got dark. i dropped a damn light bulb in the deck lid when i changed it and cant get it out BUT I CAN SURE HEAR IT ROLLIN AROUND IN THERE ! im gonna get Gary what he needs and call him again and ask him about putting a flat decal on a round surface and see what he says. finally got the steering wheel wrap on after stretching it out for 3 days coz i broke 3 of them trying to put one on the Road Runner right out of the box.. it looks good on there. got a rear view mirror from ebay it came in broken...HOWEVERRRRRRRRRRR...the dude packed 2 sun visors in there also..WHICH I DIDNT BUY.....sooooooooooo...i installed those tonight also coz i needed some anyway....BONUSSSSSSSSSSSSSS !!!!!! so i had to get a rear view mirror from you know who...and glued the little thing to the windshield so i could drive the damn thing ! every day i get a little bit more done to it. i need a carburetor...so ill order one as soon as i sell more bass guitars.....and get the seat covers too . money is getting tight with me being laid off and whatnot, so im gonna keep the Magnum 500's on there for a while and rotate the tires so that the raised whites are on the outside where theyre SUPPOSED to be.WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY do people buy raised whites and put them on the inside?????????????? ill never understand that . thanx for all the input guys, i really appreciate your thoughts!
