Cylinder Heads Question

Am I correct in saying that you can't tell anything from the numbers on the runners in the head other than that they're 915? Those extra numbers don't indicate valve size or anything?

Correct lots of numbers for casting location, date etc but only the HP would indicate the larger exhaust
and unless you have a RT, Magnum, GTX vehicle you have no need for the HP stamp
Where the ex seats are worn out anyway
with the 1.6 seats it's easy to open them up and get a brand new seat
i still recommend dura bond sintered seats
are you trying to do a matching number build?
I've seen 383's with 915s but do not think they were original even on magnums with the HP exhaust but IDK

I've never seen any outward marks to note potential exh valve size. I've also seen small valve heads on an HP motor that had never been touched. You need to look at each head. But - they all had the meat for the larger valves. I always run 1.81s with unleaded seats.
