Dash lights fixed! Now gauges ugh

Turns out the tan wire that feeds the fuse from the dash dimmer switch was cut/bad. Fixed.
Now gauges. Is it ok to leave the ammeter hooked up even if the gauge doesn't work? This is a non rally dash.

Or you could do the safety route....Bolt those two wires together and heat shrink/electrical tape over them....

Because it is an Ammeter, the wires must be connected in some fashion. That is what feeds the entire wiring system.
