Ok, I don’t literally believe everything I read on the internet, or watch on YouTube. I do however have on very good YouTuber advice that one tell for whether a ticker has turned over is the numbers won’t line up straight.

What do you say about that? Any opinions about whether this one could possibly be 5 digits real?

(would obviously ultimately do the necessary digging to document but just curious of your thoughts gentlemen)

I kinda disagree about the numbers not lining up straight. They're just tiny wheels with teeth and a number on them . I would say that it's very possible that's the actual mileage . Assuming that's the case, there shouldn't be any wear at all on the rubber brake pedal pad.

Great tip. I will check that out. Thank you!

As far as the numbers. Drive halfway around the block and it will read 148100

I assume you know already, just a misprint or typo

14810.0 it's just turning over the 09 to a 10 last 2 digits,
the white one is tenths of a mile

or the wear on carpets
or the seat from when entering, getting in or out
even the steering wheel etc.
should show very lil' signs of any wear
maybe a bit of fading only

All lined up perfect ready to roll..

..mine hasn't been around the 100k first, documented and fact....

Pretty easy to take the odometer out and change it to any mileage or swap for another speedo unit. Hard to say what are original miles unless the original owner can verify it somehow.

I pick the car up in about a week. Once I have the documentation in hand I’ll have some detective work to do. The car is ‘reported’ as never been restored.

The numbers on my van stayed in line when ticking over another hundy thou.....

You’re getting your money’s worth for sure!
Thanks....should be good for another seven hundy thou..... Trusty Toyota diesel.

Back to your first post....have you tried tapping the odometer cover ?

I have done that in the past and the numbers do move around a bit to align better.

It’s a new purchase. I don’t have possession yet. So once she’s delivered I’ll be able figure more out.
Thanks for weighing in!

The difference in wear between 14,000 and 114,000 should be extremely obvious.

I have my 91 Daytona, one owner, 74k, and it's not always lined up.

I have a motorcycle with 8100 original miles. Doesn't always line up.

I have a bike with over 55k...lines up perfectly.

It's plastic. The teeth aren't micrometer-toleranced. I wouldn't put any stock in this as a determination.
