Does anyone know what the correct length is for a dipstick? 440 Max Wedge with 7 quart oil pan.

the dipstick should still be the same, "unless the windage-tray is lower into the pan", like usually assoc. with a 4.25"-4.5" stroker, mostly in a RB hi-deck block the B/Low deck has a smaller diameter crankshaft counter weights, but it really depend on the type of windage-tray & oil pan type, who's is it, what style it is, a Funny-car type rectangular pan or open frame-rail type pan or pan with a steering tube going thru could change capacity & oil depth in the pan... Than effecting what level the oil is in the pan, you don't want the crank hitting the oil in the pan "EVER", otherwise that's the highest point you want the oil in the pan, just under the windage-tray... make sure the oil capacity isn't including the filter too, some are actually 6 quart "oil-pan" with a 7th quart actually in the filter, marketed as a 7 quart system, like some of the cheaper ones... my Milodon 7"/7 qt. pan uses the same OEM dipstick length... I actually measured it where the windage-tray was in relation to the pan depth, with the pan off & than filled the pan to that level on he bench & checked how many qt.'s it "actually" was to that level.... I hope that didn't just confuse everyone...
Below is a good graphic of a Dipstick.
Let me know if it helps.
I resemble that remark... that stately looking dude

How long have you been waiting for a dipstick thread to use that pic Runner lol.
I had a 402 pan 4 qts + filter and my stick read prefect, I recently replaced my pan with a 6 qts + filter hemi repop. when my pan was off I put a straight edge across my block and it was exactly 1.5 inches down to the full mark.
Installed new pan and reinstalled windage tray filled with 7 qts and was perfect on the dipstick like before on my stock stroke 440.
LMFAO.
I was thinking you would stay quiet....most people on here wouldn't have known had you not piped up.
I just noticed the matching Raider towel set. Classic.
