OK guys. I need some help. I started a previous thread to discuss the calipers not floating on the machined ways of the support. The Ram Man will not answer my phone or emails so I'm relying on you guys to help me out. I am going to attach a couple of pictures. You will notice the machined ways are a little different, one has a groove cut all the way around the other doesn't. The support that does not have the machined ways is the one the caliper is hung up on and won't slide. I'm assuming I have one wrong support.

The screw driver is inserted to show the gap. Basically the retainer is wedged against the caliper and won't lie flat.

Please give us a little more inf as to what car this is on and what all you have replaced? Was it a drum car org , did you do a full kit withspindles? Or did you re-use the spindles.
Any pictures of the bracket? What size rotors are being used ?

1) The car is a 1964 Dodge Polara 500, 383, factory power drum brakes, factory sway bar.
2) The kit came with new spindles, bearings, seals, calipers, caliper support or adapters (don't know what the official name is), dust shields, etc.
3) The kit did not come with rotors, I purchased them from NAPA (11").
4) Disc brake master cylinder.
5) While I was in there I also replaced the upper ball joints.
6) Since the car has the factory sway bar I had to go with rear mount calipers.

The drivers side has the caliper mounting bracket with groove cut all the way around the machined way area. On this side the caliper slides fine. The passenger side, if you look at the picture, the upper way does not have the groove cut around it. Don't know if that is important or not, but it is different than the other side and this is the one where I can't get the retainer clip to go all the way down, without binding.

may be out in left field here but if you bought the rotors was the 11 inch the recommend size of was it for a smaller disc, one that will fit your 14 inch wheel or one that will cause you to change to 15's I know there are a couple different sizes out there...

The 11" rotors were the recommended size. The large rotors are 11.75" which require different adapters. The biggest issue is the adapter I think. One side works fine the other does not.

thanks for the clearer picture...am at a loss also for a quick explanation...only thing I could say next I am sure you have already checked and possibly checked yet again..but here goes..comparing left and right bracket..(with a tape measure)....any significant difference?
