Wanting to install a Mopar performance electronic distributor in a 360 but it has a single wire alternator. Do I need to wire or do anything different than what's on the directions. It has a Mallory Unilite in it now. Thanks for the post!
Alternator has nothing to do with the electronic ignition wiring.Wanting to install a Mopar performance electronic distributor in a 360 but it has a single wire alternator. You need to test the voltage. Also you tap in before the resistor not after. If this is correct it sounds like you have a serious voltage drop.Yes the unilite was. When I look at a wiring diagram it looks like the blue wire from the balast resistor goes back to the voltage regulator on a stock mopar alternator. The intall directions say the blue wire is the keyed hot 12v. I tested it and it is but as soon as you start cranking the voltage drops to pretty much nothing?
