Do You Miss Them When They're Gone?

I got a good deal on these wheels.

I sold the car and bought an engagement ring ....
2000.jpg

I don't regret the sale of the car. I got a GREAT woman now!

Yeah, it's a Chevy.. bought it in '92 for $3600, solid body from AR. 383 stroker/350 turbo.. paint a little faded but rock solid everywhere. Had a friend paint it and other than, exhaust, wheels/tires, and bumpers I did nothing to it. Sold it for $13,500 in 2005, just about twice what I had in it. Thing is I put 22,000 miles on it, pushing it often and the thing always ran great never broke down, never a problem. Great car.

Yes very popular cars. Not a thing wrong with them for a chevy. Nice body style.
We still own this one I built for my wife.

A good woman makes all the difference for sure. This is mine helping to build her chevelle. Laughing because she hit the trigger and the socket went flying.
Mine will grab the tools and get with it.

I'd kill to get back two particular cars....
1)The '68 Dodge Monaco station wagon the family had when we were kids.
2) My first '68 Super Bee, the "everything wrong" car:

1968 super bee.jpg

I'd take every one of them back including the 66 olds 98, the 72 skylark, and the 71 torino gt.

...well I don't want the 85 s-10 back.

66 Coronet 440
67 Coronet 440
70 Super Bee
73 Rallye Challenger
86 CS turbo Daytona

are the highlights

I've missed them all but ONE. That one cost the most to build was nothing but problems and happy to get rid of it.Just a nightmare. Sometimes you just know. I got talked into buying it and building it. I did get one back,my 65 Belvedere I.

...and I'd take my mom's cars back too, 59 bonneville, 67 Newport, and even the 71 lesabre.

as far as girlfriends, I might take back the one that looked like Leeza Gibbons in her prime and the one that had the 69 firebird and had previously dated Marilyn Manson.....if I weren't currently married to the best woman in the world.

Car regrets 62 Dodge with a race Hemi, Hemi torque and Dana 60, sold it in 74/75 for $975. Bought drivetrain back in 85, $2k. 64 Olds Starfire convertible yellow, black top and interior. Kept blowing transmissions so off it went.

The two I miss the most was my old 69' Pro Street Charger R/T (still have the 70'). Not bad for a 18 or 19 year old kid back then. Also, miss my red with red interior 69' Coronet R/T.

Hmmm, too many reverse to drive shifting, lol. Fluid coupling hydramatic, my uncle had a ‘63 Olds. Also that trans would freewheel when doing a left-hand turn, then kick back in with the gas pedal.

I know I miss the only muscle car I’ve ever owned - the 68 GTX. Just sold it 6 months ago. But one thing I know for sure is I’d miss my wife more than anything if she ever left. Can’t sell her nor would i. To all you guys with the great wives - make sure you treasure them and at least make believe you’re listening when they go off on something.

Those "Slim Jim" transmissions wouldn't take much abuse and I abused it.

I hoard, therefore I do not miss any. :p
:luvplace:

the altered & the Ford both had Blown Inj. Milodon Hemi power at one time too

the rest other than my org. 68 Charger R/T I bought ($350) when I was 15
I had for almost 20 years before I was talked into selling it
that I wish I never sold, to my cousin, that totaled it

I'm up-to 111 or so cars/trucks now,
many were MoPars, many were B-bodies, probably about 1/2
(not including work trucks, daily drivers)

I've curtailed my ways, of going thru cars like underwear
I have had my current 68 RR for almost 15 years now

I hope it won't be going anywhere soon either :usflag:

I only later discovered that there was a shift governor on the side that had plastic teeth. They would strip out. Takes about 10 minutes to change out and then it would shift again. Don't know how many transmissions I went through before I was told about that. The gear cost about 2.00.

I went to trans shop and saw warp discs and burnt clutches. Guy said he'd never seen one that bad, what the hell were you doing.

I miss a lot of things. I just keep my head down and run head long into the next best thing. No time for regrets. For the record, my wife bought me my car, now that's a wife!!
