I grew up just 15 mi from the one and only OBLONG in IL.

13 mi north of Oblong is Moonshine. Was a little country store with 1 gas pump. I remember going in there with my grandpa who lived about a mile away when I was just a little ****. Now it's a tourist stop if you're in southeastern IL. People from all over the country stop in there. Lots of people on bikes. Famous for their Moonshine burger.

I live in Bland Missouri. The town was named after Richard Bland a congressman I think at the time. Richard had a nick name " Silver Dick" so a few years back when the town had a 100 year celebration it was called Silver Dick Days, local winery also made special Silver Dick wine.
