Synchronicity
Or sometimes, life is just weird.
I rarely talk to my next door neighbor.
About 2 week ago I went out in the morning and witnessed another neighbor's cat fighting and chasing off a fox.
(Cool cat and the fox sat in the street for a minute afterwards shaking it off and looking like "WTF".)
Yesterday, I did stop to tell to the next door about the recent fox incident and found they had to put down their Great Pyrenees.
Cancer.
They got a new pup already.
This is hitting the news today.

But if a mouse ever gets in my house, it's toast

My girlfriend bought a couple dog beds like that. Not one dog of mine has ever used one for a minute. She gave away a couple, one is gathering dust outside.
If I make Thor place and stay on that dog bed, he hates it. When he gets bored in the shop, he will go lay on it.My girlfriend bought a couple dog beds like that. Not one dog of mine has ever used one for a minute. She gave away a couple, one is gathering dust outside.
Cute, CharlyHappy Holidays All!
The above post is mine, from March of this year. This update is for those of you who have wondered how this pup has been doing.
Charly is a very happy, spoiled boy nowadays! This is his family now and he loves it. He is still quite clingy, but in the nicest ways. Many nights I end up with my head and Charly's on my pillow (paws across my neck)!
Charly goes on walks, to dog parks and gets excited whenever the harness comes out.
With that being said, there are still challenges. He is very smart and knows the signs of my wife or I getting ready to leave the the house. This - in his eyes - is a very bad idea, requiring multiple possible actions! Separation anxiety is still an issue...
First, the soft touch. When I am moving around getting ready to leave, he will (as often as possible) stop in front of me and quickly sit up, waving both paws in the air. He loves to have me hold both paws in one hand, holding him up, while petting him with the other. He enjoys this all the time, but he has also figured out that if he does this while I am getting ready, I have to stop what I am doing...SO he will do this repeatedly!
Second, time to slow progress. Daddy (me) is still going?! Time to steal shoes, socks or even coats and take off with them.
Third, time to get serious. Barking, grabbing and not letting go. Obviously we are still working on this.
He, like many Golden Retrievers, is a natural born thief and should be on wanted posters. He steals shoes, clothing of all kinds, dish towels/rags and much more. He then proudly prances around showing off his latest bounty!
Once again, he has come a long way and is very happy.

Charly, sitting up (paws crossed, held by me...he loves this) with four socks!
Majestic looking
Very cool deal, at 1st glance it was hard to see the PheasantShe finally did it!
Her first bird!
I shot another one but we couldn't find it. I was thinking we're doomed, shot this one it went down in a thicket and when I was close enough I sent her in and she ran it down. I'm super proud of a pound dog that is on her third home and didn't even know how to sit 6 months ago. Next year is gonna be awesome when I mix in ducks, she loves swimming and retrieving in water.
Her beard stuck out like that for 10 minutes afterwards! Lol she's hooked. View attachment 1570931
