DOGS

No harm no foul...

Yeah no obstructions they did ex-rays, also of his hips & spine too, head & throat etc.
a lot of times stuff like strings or rope won't show up on ex-rays
he doesn't destroy his or others toys either
he doesn't chew on ropes, but he doesn't have access to any either

his stick & most all his toys, he's had for 9 years now
used to fetch it (the stick) 20 times a day, he hardly plays with it these days
or even chews on it, he's a true soft mouth Lab

With the limping and loss of appetite, not wanting to play makes me wonder if arthritis is bothering Elvis?
Our Border Collie had those syptoms. We ended up at a specialist. It did help her. Started when she was nine.

Rebel and Morty are concerned, and send well wishes to everyone going through a tough time

:thankyou:

I wonder would arthritic stuff show up on ex-rays ?
I would assume so...
The vet did a bunch of range of motion tests on his rear legs & hips or back too
no discomfort at all
she said it isn't any thing there, his Ex-rays 'were great' too she proclaimed
Labs are known for hip dysplasia so every time he's in there they check
both his mother & father had good hips too

His brother Rowdy died at 8 y/o from bone cancer
his mother Bella died at 9 y/o from something, I can't remember what (?)
so there is history that doesn't look to great

I wondered too

I need to ask, next time I talk to the vet, about if arthritis would show up
probably going in again on Monday if I get an appointment
& not emergency drop off

For me at least, Arthritis is an autoimmune issue. Can the Vet check for autoimmune? Many things get the auto going. For me it's sugar and gluten. Dairy very minor but the other two wreak havoc when I imbibe too much.

After 30 minuets of throwing the Frisbee she is done for now.

It cracks me up when the dogs and cats go goofy on footwear after you've pulled them off.

Elvis Budnicks 6/3/15 to 7/30/24, 9 y/o

Elvis & Bubba 7-27-2015 8-weeks on deck (2).JPG

Sad day here, Elvis Budnicks took his last breath in my hands 12:10pm today
on an emergency visit to a local vet, in the waiting room
he couldn't hold out any more, not even at his reg. vet either

massive tumor Liver cancer for the most part, spleen tumor too
had internal bleeding & very labored breathing, he held out as long as he could

outcome would be about the same even if I had caught it the 1st day
pretty much inoperable supposedly, doesn't make me feel any better

he's no longer in any pain, is my only solace

he will be cremated & I can get his ashes next Tuesday in a nice cedar box

thanks for all the help & talk guys, it means more than you will ever know

RIP Elvis,
my beloved side kick & big boy

Dog died go to heaven - they'll still talk about you.jpg
