when we bought 2 lifts we went made in usa, and the cylinders are made in canada, we went with spending more , not cheaping out on safety. they were 1200 more each, we bought whip brand from Texas

Sale office/headquarters in USA doesn't necessarily equal made in USA. Bendpak is now made in China as an FYI..

Is, or is not, this video posted by a competitor? And, didnt they overload this lift, by 50%?
Lets see, to reach 15000 lbs, i would have to have my crewcab diesel pickup on the lift.... with my roadrunner in the bed, and my opel and my savoy parked on the roof.

The video mentioned that the lift was designed to handle 150% load. So, they tested it and it failed. Then, they showed the poor welds and other faults.

My thoughts on lifts ( I work around and under one pretty regular)
Is no matter what brand or style you have or purchase,
Make sure always not to over load them. Make sure the safety catches work correct and engage as they should.
Also read over your manual and perform lift maintenance in the time frame the company suggests.
Always make sure the concrete you install it on is the correct type and depth.
I really like having one, and would never be without one again.

I have a 9K Direct Lift that I have used for over 15 years, The most I have had on it 7K but it didn't hesitate. I have a 69 Ply wagon on it right now as a matter of a fact. Spend your money where you feel comfortable but I will say right now that I do not have any regrets about my lift and I'd buy another one.

I will add this that "made in America" does not mean quality by any stretch. Yes, I am patriotic and I served this great country for over 2 decades but this same old BS china this and that is all marketing BS. If these lifts were trash, the distributors would have been sued into oblivion by now. Notice that they had the arms completely extended and applied the weight as far out as possible? Since I don't lift anything that weights 15K I think I am good.

My '70 318 Charger was 3660 with no back seat. After the 440 swap, it was 3751. Now with even a modern A/C system, sound deadener and HD suspension, I am at an even 4000 lbs.

My '70 318 Charger was 3660 with no back seat. After the 440 swap, it was 3751. Now with even a modern A/C system, sound deadener and HD suspension, I am at an even 4000 lbs.

Agree. Most published "shipping weights" are pure fantasy land. They are usually around 200lbs light, in my experience, often more.

Correct. If it will not lift 10000 the 15000 is redundant. Can not destroy it's self sitting on the floor now can it.

I have used my Direct Lift 9F for over 15 years without an issue. Funny thing, I was recently watching Hotrod garage and another car show and they all have Direct Lift 2 post lifts.

Which one you looking at? Do not think I would like working over an open trench. Just looks like a accident in the making. The in floor jobs I have never cared for. Especially the old ones that operated separately on each end.

Ya we have an Aimco 9000# lift, ( American made) I had my 02 Ram 2500 5.9 4x4 on it and even then it made me nervous.
Of all the lift failures I've seen most have been at the base and the anchors popping out in two post liftsthat is.
