Does anyone know if doug's will work on angled plug heads (edelbrock performer rpm's specifically)? I have heard that very few fit right and most people go tti with these heads. Thx

According to their 2012 catalog, 1969 Roadrunner-383 1 3/4" Primariy Auto on the column will not fit. 1969 Roadrunner-GTX -440/426 2" Primariy Auto on the column will fit.

First, they are top rate. I ran a set on a 65 Valiant I had years ago with a violent small block. Best fitting and easiest install I ever had. I plan to get their headers soon for my 65 Coronet.

As to the thing about the divorce. First I heard of that.....BUT there does indeed seem to be two companies. One is "Doug Thorley Headers" and the other is "Doug's Headers". How it came to be, I don't know, but your version would certainly make sense.

Just found this on The Hamb. Sounds right because on the "Doug Thorley Headers" site, trucks and motorhomes are what you see most.

"Doug Thorley Headers and Headers by Doug (aka Doug's Headers) are two different companies. Headers by Doug was the first name that he used making headers out of his muffler shop. As the header business grew it became "Doug's Headers". Then
Doug Thorley Headers After a divorce Doug's wife Betty ran Doug Thorley Headers, it was a different company and Doug was not really involved too much. They made a few of the original designs, but really went after the motor home and truck market. In later years he did invest in it a bit but Doug's Headers was still his company and the name that he used. When Betty passed on her partner eventually sold the company to Summit Industries who also owns the Jardine brand, Jerry Jardine's old company. Doug continued on as Doug's Headers eventually deciding to retire and sold the company to PerTronix who continues to
build the Original Doug's Headers using his designs and tooling as well as adding new design of the same theory and quality that Doug always adhered to."

Any folks out there have any experience with Doug's Headers? Quality/Fit/Installation? Was leaning TTI because I heard mostly good things, but searching around a bit I heard Doug's were pretty good as well. I also heard there is actually (2) Doug's Header businesses operating. One is ran by his wife because of a brutal divorce settlement and the other started back up by the man himself. Any truth to that?

BTW...car to be installed in- '69 B-Body.

You'll find RustyRatRod over on FABO....he doesn't get out this way much anymore
