E-body bashing?

Hi Matt,

EL5 looks great.

From 2005-2007 I owned a 71 Challenger R/T, too
Factory EV2 orange, white top and interieur with black stripes. Factory export car to switzerland.
Here is a current pic with the liscense plates of my friend who bought it from me back in 2007

I feel the challenger swept the others off their feet in looks, performance etc. but it was late in the game. A 70/71 rag top or T/A is on my to buy list , I drove a friends was debating on buying it but passed and now regret it. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the way the doors sound when closing. I haven’t figured the sound out otherwise it’s a cross between my 70 & 72 b under the skin. I’ve been around plenty of them I don’t see much reliability issues but maybe when new IDK? I’ll have one or two in my stable sometime.

I don't know. I still think Mopar got everything right in 1970. Charger, Challenger, 'Cuda, Duster,RoadRunner,etc.... Just my opinion. I love them all.

EDITED:
I fail to see the point of this thread (other than perhaps to gin up non-existent drama born out of boredom, perhaps)?
About the worst I can come up with is that I also don't like the graphics on FEBO - but then, I don't hang there much, either.

Forums such as these are either successful or not based primarily on the members and their contributions - FBBO being a prime example.
At best, owners of such sites show wisdom in allowing folks to make them look like great hosts - and at worst, can kill such a site by overbearing heavy-handedness.

I like B-Bodies better, have 2 now and have had way way more B-Bodies then E-Bodies. But I still like E-Bodies. Oddly my first Mopar was a 71 Barracuda, slant 6 3 peed. Rarest car I ever owned, only 200 made. Sadly No pictures.
I do currently have a 70 Cuda, U code 440 4 barrel FC7 car. I wanted this car for over 30 years before I was able to buy it from the original owners family in 2016. Never restored custom painted in 1971, guy owned a speed shop (which was in a farm a mile from where I grew up) and several race cars. The Cuda was his fair weather driver and show car. I’m 6’2 and find it very comfortable with an add Tuff Steering wheel, I love driving it.

Being born and bred in the motor city, I was influenced by all that were designed as muscle or sport. In the neighborhood I grew up in many dads worked for any one of the big 3.
I find the differences and history of how each was built and performed back in the day pretty cool.
My cruising buddies and I are an eclectic bunch, A, F, B, and the Pintostang!

New Challenger follows the q’s from the 70 ‘Cuda designed by John Herlitz. Iconic, timeless, and bitchin. That said, my pals 70 ‘Cuda rides like a goddam buckboard compared to a B Body. B body roomy and comfortable.

For those of you who missed it, the OP was attempting to "bash" on the FEBO website, not
e-bodies in general.

I have a huge problem with this. IMO, it’s the other way around. I get **** like crazy, cursed out by strangers leveling charges of being a hooker than thou arrogant Rick with no class do I tired by how I’m a classless POS and all I did was drive into the car meet.

I have never and can not fathom looking down on another because of what they drive no matter what they drive. I really don’t give a flying F#%^ what your driving! But I get **** rammed up my backside because I drive a ‘73 Cuda?

Seriously! You have got to be F’in kidding me!
At first I thought you were going to say you were driving a new Challenger into the car meet! Nothing wrong with those either!

E bodies are what turned me into a lifelong Mopar fanatic. If not for seeing Vanishing Point on TV when I was 14 I may well have searched for a Chevy or Ford when I was 16 instead of a Challenger.
I don’t find them super comfortable to drive very far on the highway, which is what motivated me to buy a B body last year.
That being said, putting the top down on my 70 Challenger convertible and heading out to a summer evening cruise is one of my biggest pleasures and never gets old.
Hopefully driving 75 on the highway in the Magnum with the T tops off to a distant event will be just as fun!
I joined for E bodiesonly some time back, but never got into it. I was active on cuda-Challenger.com for years but migrated to E bodies.org with most of the rest of the cc.com gang when it started going downhill. I’m JH27NOB there.:moparsmiley:

Wish I never sold my no's match street/strip 340 Cuda back in '87 but what replaced it was much faster>

I had one of them as well. 1st and only Challenger. I enjoyed it for a while. Nice car.

I am mostly a B body guy,and more specifically a Charger guy. I currently have 16 b body cars, and 3 e body cars. Two of the E body cars are Challenger convertibles, the other is a 71 Cuda 340. Even though I prefer Chargers,i have always had a few E bodies around.

This is very, VERY tempting; and especially tempting because it's a 1970!

wow...18grand....thats actually a crossroads decision right there,ty for posting that link.
do i keep the original shell or replace it?
ive got 10k into the car, with a running 440 4 speed, but it need like ten k of metal replacement too...
by the time we get all the metal Plus labor...hmm.
its just a big block 383 top banana car/se,not extremely valuable...but is a complete car.
whats a rebodied 70 challenger 440 4 speed worth? versus a repaired original body?
its a vanishing point clone,R/T hood,pistol grip,the works.
any opinions?

My '70 Challenger was a better car to drive at 21yo than at 51yo. That being said I still have it at 55 yo and will till I'm dead.
I can drive my '68 Charger all day and not be sore/tired.

I have had 3 E bodies. Still have 1 E body. I don't think any less of you E Body owners from you B Body owners. Don't think any less of FEBO either. I have 4 B Bodies and a C Body also so I like to try to fit in everywhere.

They were talking about the Dynacorn replacement Challenger bodies in the other thread. As far as I know, they only built the one prototype body, and never built any to sell to the public. Does anyone know of anyone buying one,or seen one in person?
