E-body bashing?

It's not really a bash on E-bodies. I have one. (I believe still a step down from B-bodies.) But the FEBO Site? Has anyone tried that site? It's just a parts hunt. And that's the bash.

Getting back on topic about FEBO it's no FBBO, for sure; Not much traffic there compared to FBBO. That's why I post questions here and FEBO. Usually, you guys answer first.

I wish joeychicago could revamp all his other sites to be just like FBBO. But, I understand why he doesn't.

Don't get me wrong........ 70 71 cuda over camaro all day long; Challenger, maybe..... I appreciate all the cars of the era. If it's cool, it's cool

ive been doing cars since 1993,and owned several e bodies.
what i discovered was they are too wide, too low,and have a horrible seating and side view.
beautiful cars, but not much fun to actually drive, esp daily.
they do have great resale value, but thats about it.

the a bodies are what i consider to be a compact pocket rocket,if equipped right.( Great street fighters )
the b bodies are the heavyweights, the cruisers and the battleships,as it were,of the mopar lineup..
the c bodies were the aircraft ships, enormous but still powerful and fun to boat around.
just my opinion.
I didn't see them as being horrible in seating and side view. Yeah, the 60's B body cars were better if you liked boxy (and I do) and sitting higher in the seat and were easier to see out of. Also owned a couple of early Fastback Mustangs so I know what's not easy to see out of as far as blind spots go. So far I've had two big block E cars and one 71 340 Cuda and the 71 was hands down better from the factory than anything else I've owned as far as good performance and handling goes. Just had to raise the seat an inch for me be where I liked to be in it. I know the B cars can handle very well but most of them from the factory didn't. Even my 70 383 Challenger with a front only sway bar had plenty of roll. And I totally agree on the C cars being 'flat tops' but still fun. Even the 318 cars weren't bad lol.

70-74 cudas look like 1st gen Camaros to me....... not that that's a bad thing, just a little late to the party
Shame on you LOL :D I didn't like them at first but the 71 Cuda was my fav.....especially after having one for about 14 years or so.....

I have a lust for a 70 AAR 'Cuda. I worked on a 4 speed AAR at my father-in-law's shop and I really liked it. It was originally in-violet that someone repainted tor-red many years ago.

I wouldn't mind making a AAR clone with my now 416 stroker 340 in it. Wow - that would be fun!

So I haven’t been a member on these a,b,c and e sites for as long as most contributing members but I enjoy looking, reading and participating on them all.

One strange thing with the e-bodies is the format/graphics changed maybe 2 years ago.
I personally found it distracting and not as inviting to use, it seemed like it was just like the rest of the sites prior to this change. Shirley others noticed this change? (Pun intended)

I parked my 68 GTX next to a 67 GTO one time and was amazed at the similarities :poke:

I have a 1971 Challenger. I've been to For E bodies. It was just kind of boring. That and I guess I'm done with whatever I set out to do with the car. When I saw Vanishing Point in 1971 at the drive-in and I swore I would get a Challenger someday. The '69 Charger was next on the list. I would like to have lots of other cars like a '63 Split Window Vette, a '70 GTO Judge but I can't have them all.

Here's my current garage.
1969 Charger
1971 Charger
1971 Challenger
1970 Pontiac drag car
1973 Grand Am 455
1981 Camaro' BumbleBee
1997 Camaro SS
2006 Hummer H3

Oh! I forgot. I'm a new owner of a 1970 Coronet 500. It's just not here yet. Like I said it's in Las Vegas, NM. I want to go there and take pictures of all the filming locations from 1984's Red Dawn. I watched it again last night.

What do I drive? My little Pontiac Vibe. (Toyota Matrix) I drive it way too fast and wind it up to 6300 RPMs before shifting that little 5 speed!!! It's also great in traffic with two giant Newfoundland dogs sticking their heads out the rear windows. The back seats are folded down so their heads barely clear the top of the window frames. I get lots of smiles.

Sorry, I'm posting so much. I'm sick and a little bored.
hey, can you post a pic of the Grand Am... I like that car

I agree. We seem to be looked down on by "Eer's". Early "B" trash. Oh my god a "A" body ? POS.
I have a huge problem with this. IMO, it’s the other way around. I get **** like crazy, cursed out by strangers leveling charges of being a hooker than thou arrogant Rick with no class do I tired by how I’m a classless POS and all I did was drive into the car meet.

I have never and can not fathom looking down on another because of what they drive no matter what they drive. I really don’t give a flying F#%^ what your driving! But I get **** rammed up my backside because I drive a ‘73 Cuda?

Seriously! You have got to be F’in kidding me!

First of all, I love the E bodies. I think they are an absolutely beautiful car and I would like to get one again. Funny story though, when I was a kid my first car was a 66 GTO. What a great car it was, very solid and drove great, super reliable year around (yes winter too with studded snow tires). Then I sold it and bought a 70 Challenger. OMG, it was terrible compared to the GTO, cheaply made, tin can and lots of reliability problems. It just seemed so cheap compared to the GTO, so I only kept it a few months and then sold it and bought a 68 GTO. Again the 68 was very solid like the 66. Funny thing is now I want an E body again.

I agree, I think ma mopar was trying to play catch up with GMs camero/firebird but by the time they got into production, GM already moved on to the 2nd gen.

I thumb my nose at all you B body snobs! LolView attachment 1220014
Is that your mom in the front seat? /s.....
ANY car, even E bodies, deserve recognition
as to what they are. There are some out there
that love Pinto's, Vegas, Gremlins, Corvairs
even Corvettes. Isn't America great?
It would be pretty boring if you went to a
car show, and all that was there were 1969
Dodge Chargers.

I had an E-bod
we used to have a 1970 Challenger 340. Once done it sat ,,,a lot.
Just not comfortable to drive any lengthy distance. We added a 6 way seat and the later model tuff stuff steering wheel , Both which helped a bunch.
But came down to I prefer a B body. So the car got sold off and never looked back with no desire to own another one

Pretty much the same with me, although if iI still had it, it would be worth a hell of a lot more today than what I sold it for back in 1984.

Been a bit since I've been on the site. It's school time and that's my present part time job- driving. Semi- retired, school paycheck going toward house remodel, that wife and I are doing ourselves. So here is my 1 cent (do not have two- as all going into house at this time). First car I ever owned was bought to go with me to College (Canton NY, ag & Tech - took Auto Tech in 1970) We were required to have engine, trans., etc. to take apart and rebuild in lab part of schooling) So I found a 63 Sport Fury, "golden Commando - just meant 383-, 4 speed, no rust, etc. So my first was a B-body. "A's" at the time were just transportation, No "C's" or "E's" yet. Liked the "A's" when they started getting motors. In fact, my second car 66 Barracuda, 273, 4bbl. 4 speed. When I went to school the parts I got came from a local dealer who turned me on to Mopar Performance parts - still have all their "bulletins" in the original envelope. Got them from a guy on the phone out in Mich. at their headquarters. Real nice Guy on the phone sent me all kinds of "stuff", told me what to get, part numbers, etc. I meet him many years later. We talked often enough he even remembered so of our conversations. His name - Larry Shepard - yes Mr. Ramcharger, before he was that. Any way when E body's came out (in my mind) they had nothing to offer. Same as the B except bulky looking, and according to Mr. Shepard a bit heavier. So, what was the point? Never disliked, just never cared for. I like B's, C's next. A's just OK. Looking now for a C to replace my Dakota as the household "mule". Do not have to put "stuff" in it, cause I have a steel deck trailer that it can pull for larger items ( my 66 for instance. In my mind, that is that is why E's are popular now (rare now, as they were not as popular then either).
