Sorry, tried a search on this topic. Any 68, 69 Road Runners with a 440 running this intake with stock hood.

It will fit with a 1.25" drop filter base and a short filter. I like to use the K&N open lid to make up for the short filter and restriction from the drop base.

I'm gonna assume a 383. Edelbrock catalog (print) says both 383 and 440 rpm has 5.35" carb pad height. They say in the blurb for the 440 that it is 1.7" taller than stock, does not give the same info for 383. Do you have an inch and three quarter clearance?
I think it will probably fit, but not with the stock air cleaner, probably need aftermarket drop base.

Just looked up what I got to work with a 440 motor and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake.
Holley 1.25" drop air cleaner base
K&N E-3740 2 5/16" tall element
K&N 66-1401XP X-Stream airflow top plate
With this combo I also used a 3/16" carb base gasket.
Also remove the hood insulation pad if your car has it.

I run the drop base from Mancini Racing with the 13" unsilenced stock deal on my 68 Charger with a 440 and no problems. I am told the Charger has the worst hood clearance of them all so can't be worse than my setup.

Same here. I run the same setup on my Charger. Seems to work well.

I know this is a little over a month old, got a '67 Coronet w 496 stroked 383, Edelbrock RPM with Fitech FI. Do you think hunt2elk's setup will work on this?

Kinda depends on if the drop base will fit the Fit. Throttle body that is. We have no way of knowing. I'd call Fitech and ask them for a recommendation for a drop base that will work. Hunt2elk has a 440, your low deck stroker should have more room.

Ya, kinda figured that's what I'd have to do. I've already got a garage full of wall art. Radiators, fans, etc that wouldn't fit n they wont take back. I guess I may end up adding an air cleaner to the art collection.

I feel your pain. I have a beautiful spun aluminum aircleaner that weighs nothing, and has the maximum drop. Its on a shelf somewhere. The trouble is ,the drop is so severe it doesn't clear any carb i've ever tried it on. It might work on a throttle body, but i have no way of knowing.
