Eddy AVS idle tuning question.

Just an update. It was not my timing light that quit, it was my ignition system. I went to start the motor up the next day to continue tuning the carb, it was missing and backfiring out the exhaust. Motor would not idle only run badly if given throttle, then it would not run at all. Pulled #1 plug wire off, put a spark plug in it and no spark at all. I am getting spark in a few holes as the motor wants to run, but no dice. Looks like trouble shooting the ignition went to #1 on the list.

I would like to finish this topic off and help someone with my experience. My ignition coil went bad and had a weak spark. Since 2015 I have changed 3 ignition boxes and two coils in this car and I had enough. I installed a Progression ignition system and got rid of the Chrysler ignition all together. I would like to thank all who helped me and have to give a shout out to @Geoff 2 for sharing the articles about timing. It was spot on for my combination of low compression and bigger cam. I have the timing set at 42* locked out and my carb problems are gone with no changes since ignition swap. With the timing locked out at 37* it would give me a cough and a small backfire when stabbing the throttle. I almost have the unburnt gas smell gone and the car has never driven this good since I installed all the speed parts in 2015. I swore the Edelbrock carb was trash and even bought a Holly hoping it would fix it. It was all in the timing. I am in the process of building a timing table that is not fixed, that my car likes.

I also run a smogger 440. Love my Progression Ignition. Update when you figure out a non-locked timing table for the Progression. Locked at 42* is an interesting fix and interested how it turns out.
