I agree with matched parts. My MPI EFI turbo 383 runs a rpm perf intake. We built a torker as well in case the distribution was bad. But it was good so I've never tried the torker. I use a sheet metal elbow and Ford style throttle body.

I would NOT follow DDG's vids, at least any of the more recent ones, when it comes to EFI conversion. I like the guy and he has a lot of good info but his recent EFI exploits had a lot of halfassery with a pinch of ignoring directions.

My point is he's a carb guy. He's good at tuning the stock (ish) stuff and getting it to run right (which is all anyone is probably after).

What kit / setup is that?
Running the 1200 PA FiTech TBI on the Charger, and the 340 LPH drop-in pump. Did that around 10+ years ago, and the drop-in pump used a fuel line that must not have been rated for in-tank use as it got soft and slipped off the pump. Bough the Gates submersible rated fuel line (pricy stuff) to replace the line on the 340 LPH drop-in pump.

I have been running a Fitech mean street 800 on my 67 Coronet since 2017. I'm very happy with it. For some reason all the Fitech tank kits came with 340lph pumps. The price is only a few dollars more than the tank Inc kits with the 255lph pumps. I figured it couldn't hurt. I'll be running a 3/8 return line so any excess fuel will be returned to the tank.

My Fitech fuel tank kit came in today. Was surprised, to see it came with new tank straps and a rollover valve for the vent line. The ad on Summit Racing did not mention that. Nice tank with better baffeling inside than I expected.

I'm pretty sure the Holley fuel tanks are from Tanks Inc also.
I did my EFI around 2012 with a sump welded to a stock tank and external pump. I didn't like the external pump setup and wanted to go to intank pump around 2014. I contacted Tanks Inc and they were working on the B-Body tanks, but I think they came out for sale about 2+ years after I talked to them. I got the Spectra CR9CFI tank/pump that I found out about around 2014, but I bought it in June 2015. I just looked at the current price on Amazon, $418.34 which is a pretty good price. I do like how you can option different pumps for the Tanks Inc tanks.
This was for the Edelbrock XT EFI, like Vance has. The ECU that came with it was very basic, so re-wired with FAST 2.0 EFI electronics.

Regardless of what system, PFI/TBI, ignition or not, if you're considering or have already took the plunge on EFI, DIY Auto Tune has some really good articles (and videos) on generic tuning that will probably help.

I had a Holley Projection 25 some odd years ago. Was on 70 challenger when I bought it. I sorted out some issues with the install and it did well. It eventually died from imo being installed above where the exhaust ran. When I got it, the harness already had taken a set and it wasn’t wise to mess with it. It really felt like the wires would break if I tried to unroll the harness and move it somewhere smart, like the glovebox or something. It did last much longer than I thought. 10k miles or so for me with it like it was. The control unit just got wonky one day.

My 69 GTX gets over 16 mpg at steady cruise, 65-70 mph. 16.25 is common. It’s all stock and is dragging the ac weight. Sure efi might outdo that, but that would require $$$$ and the bigger loss would be use of the car. It would run probably a little bit better, but in my case the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. I have a whole list of smaller projects with more yield and I won’t have the car down for a long stretch. I’m not paying a shop, and it can be hard to string together the required time for the swap.

What engine are you getting 16mpg?
I’d like that, instead of my 8mpg.
