Are you still set on the Chip Foose two tone treatment?

it won't look like a foose abortion, I promise........... I'm gonna do the fender flairs and running boards a lighter color, probably a light goldish-green; but not there yet.

the fenders and pass door had a little damage from the wreck, those parts along with the hood are my immediate focus; just to get the truck uniform. Every panel has something minor, and will be addressed; but I need to drive it and not bite off too much at any one time.

this particular round gets me back to "respectable" at a minimum

and the chrome grille was delaminating. I managed to get under the chrome and "peel" it off...... took about an hour, but managed to slice my fingers up in the process

Fm3 ?, and a pair of JcWhitney eyelashes?

"why are they always green"

I remember checking these out at the dealer showroom, could not believe how bad the tiger striping was in the metallic on the hood..
You're over- restoring it!!

Nope. Painted with silver plastic inserts. I did happen to see a chrome one on the same generation in traffic today. Looked nice.

cool.... I can rough up and paint my rear bumper, or find a clean one like yours. I want to put my Durango front bumper (full plastic cover) on it. That also gives me the fog lamp brackets and holes that I'm missing. I peeled and painted the chrome grille, looks so much better imo. There is no other chrome on the truck.

well, I bought another one

remember how this thread began...... I was searching for a good, lower miles 4.7 and a functioning trans for my Durango. After scoring the Dakota and fixing it, the search for a donor for the Durango continued. I Happened to do my usual Craigslist search this morning while drinking my coffee, and there it was!

2002 Durango, one family owned, slightly beat up and ugly, 140K, clean oil, 4 brand new good years, recent receipts for an extensive brake job.......

drove 2 hours each way to get it, drove it home almost the full length of the NJ Turnpike......it's mechanically solid, drives straight and runs strong.

it will be cannibalized before the end of the month

I may never buy auto parts for my daily drivers again! :nutkick:

oh, I paid 2K for it ...... if it weren't gunmetal grey and a little rusty, I'd probably have to fix it :BangHead: .......

but it is, so my clean, green Durango will have a new life. :drinks:

lol.... I try to keep everything under roof.....or at least under trees

google put the marker on the shop, not the house

I'm probably just gonna swap the trans in it for now, the engine still runs ok........it won't see many miles, I just need a second set of daily wheels

unfortunately, it's a late 2002, and the tone ring on the crank will need to be changed......I discovered that after I got there, but bought it anyway

I was aware of it on 03 and up, I just didn't know there was a mid year change in 02, I was bummed to see the 4 plug ecu........ such is life, I'll make the engine pretty when the time comes
