Just curious if any else has installed there engine from the bottom of the car as opposed to the top. The engine is mounted to the K-frame, which is on a dolly. I have the transmission and headers installed as well, I was wondering if the headers will clear or may need to be removed and installed afterwards. It is a 440 motor with Hooker 2 inch primaries. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I make the attempt next week.
Thanx, Bill.

Having the headers installed is one of the biggest advantages of sliding the motor in from below. Tape some cardboard or heavy craft paper to the shock towers so you don't scratch them up and take two spare 3" bolts (5/8" I believe) and cut the heads off. Then grind the ends down to a slight taper and hacksaw a screwdriver slot into this same end. Install one into each frame rail, diagonally across from each other. These will act as guide pins when you raise the k frame. Run two bolts into the unused holes and back the guide pins out with a screwdriver. Install remaining two bolts. :headbang:

great idea from 5wndwcpe!hope you have a lift for the body.almost impossible to lift the body high enough without one.

Thank You

Thanx 5wndwcpe, I appreciate the great ideas and will do so. The car is still on the rotis and will go high enough to slide the dolly under.
Thanx again, Bill

That's how they used to do it from the factory. What better way to say you have a factory correct car? ;) Beautifull motor and trans set up love the engine **** lol
