Thank you for the reply. The VIN does correspond to a scheduled production date of 5/13/69 for other RM2X cars at this plant. The engine assembly date is on the right side of the block on the stamp pad behind the alternator. There will be a E383 with some numbers below it. The cast date is on the right side of the block with the part number of the block.

Yes, I’m not worried about the 9A serial. I know what car it fits as I’ve owned it for 50 years. I was just using 9A for reference. I was more concerned on the other 2 serials as they were loose engines and I may be able to find a owner of the car and get them back to there respected cars

9A271445 - Dive deeper. If it is an HP assembly, that will be marked on the pad in front of the engine. IF is an assembly made for an automatic, then it would be out of a Road Runner. IF it is a four speed assembly then it could be from a Road Runner OR any Plymouth B body (RL, RH, RM, RP) with a four speed. Look at things like the carb, distributor and crankshaft to determine if the assembly is for an automatic or four speed.

B171582- If it's a 69 assembly, then it's from a Charger.

70 Hamtramck did not make both B and E bodies so if it's a 70 Hamtrack assembled Hemi, it's from an E body. Based on what I have on file, I think it's likely it's from a Challenger. Again, what is stamped on the front pad? What carbs, if any, does the car have? What distributor?

9B296120 is out of a Barracuda.

So 9B296120 you say is from a Barracuda. So that would be a M Code as well as it is a 440

9B296128 is an M code so..... possibly.
