Englishtown not dead yet?

Read the above reply I made.

I also disagree with “To Bad” because they people are OK with the track but the change and added up swing in tractor trailer traffic is what there against.

If you live in a quite area and the sudden appearance of a tractor trailer depo moved in a few doors down and your area was designed for increased traffic of huge proportions with tractor trailers you’d be pissed. And then some way out of state moron said to bad you got what deserved, how does his asshat comment hold water?
They DO get what they deserve!! They complained and whined until they got the track shut down. A truck distribution center is EXACTLY what they deserve. I hope that it's 24 hours like a lot of them that I deliver to. LOL

How long has he owned the track?
He is not the original owner. He bought the track when the problems started getting worse. I don't recall the exact year, but he bought it solely as an investment.

From the Wiki page...

Raceway Park was founded in 1965 by Vincent Napoliello and Louis Napoliello.[1] The site was originally 308 acres on 230 Pension Road, just off of County Route 527 (now Englishtown Road). Since then it has grown to 500+ acres with multiple motorsports activities. The track opened with a single 1/4 mile dragstrip. Raceway Park offered 2 dragstrips, 3 motocross tracks, a 1.3-mile (2.1 km) road course track, competition go kart racing track, autocross track, ride and drive site and adjacent Old Bridge Airport.

Their radio and television commercials featured the slogan: "Ah ha ha ha ha ha Raceway Park!" and "Rrrrrrrrraceway Park! ... Be there!".[2][3] Raceway Park "is one of the most fabled drag strips in America, and it ranked among the country's top five tracks".[2]

Raceway Park previously hosted the SuperNationals of the National Hot Rod Association for Funny Car and Top Fuel competitions, as well as other drag racing events. In January 2018, NHRA and Raceway Park officials announced that the venue will cease hosting all drag racing events due to rising costs. Areas specific to drag racing will be converted to outdoor concert space. All other areas of the facility will remain operational, such as the drift track, go karts, motocross, etc.[4]

OK, so... let me get this straight just to be sure...

When Piedmont turns into a truckin depot and your immediate area runs into a truck route, you deserved just that.

Correct?

i went to grade school with Vincent's youngest son Richard
they were a big car/race family and they lived in my neighborhood
they owned a brown 57 T bird with a blown 460 that would make appearances and run at many of the events.
it would be the lead car in some of the parades
or the first car to make a run down the track during a event.
i remember they had a honda atc 3 wheeler when they first came out
and Richard would drag us around on sleds hanging on to a rope
off the back in the snow..good times

LOL I am an Owner Operator, I make my living with a truck. And I am not complaining about the noise like those people. They deserve WHATEVER happens. Hopefully it makes their life MISERABLE.
BTW, I don't live close enough to Piedmont for that to matter. I have a 25 acre farm, and I will NEVER sell it to build a haven for yuppies.

So, the bottom line is you don’t give a rats *** about anyone there or anywhere because you have your haven and earn in the biz of trucking.
Bottom line, No sympathy care of concern for anybody else but you.

And your sidestepping the question about what Madewell could although probably never would happen to your place. OK so you’re a trucker. Your place and I never turned it up area of big business that you can’t stand. Do you really like the imagination to wonder consider or understand what it may feel like you have your neighbors go **** him?

You just assume that the area filled up with the yuppies and others that don’t care about anything but themselves.

No care or Concern of the people that were there and still maybe there that have a living to the track, that may support The track?

What the hell are you rambling about? I don't just ASSUME!! I know EXACTLY what the area filled up with. I grew up there. I read the yuppie rants in my local paper. I read the "close the track" signs that they put up in the area. I want nothing more than the track to remain open. IF that doesn't happen, than EVERY one of those people that whined, complained and lobbied to close the track should have to suffer with a truck DC there. KARMA!!!

And honestly, I don't give a rat's *** about those people. They should've minded their own damn business and not complained about the noise after they moved next to a race track.
I am not talking about those native to the Oldbridge area, I am specifically talking about the ******** that moved into those subdivisions knowing well and good that there was a race track within spitting distance.

So like you were talking about every last person that had grown up they are moving out with all the yuppies moving in complaining closing the track. Now it seems like you’re backpedaling. How long ago did you move out?

Oh sorry to hear that. You didn’t seem like a guy that we just roll over and play dead let other people bully him into something that he didn’t want

I moved in 2015. I never said all of the people are moving. The problems all began AFTER the subdivisions were built around the track.

LOL NOBODY bullies me. LOL
I don't whine and complain, I adjust. Instead of whining and complaining about NJ taxes and politics, I moved away.

Sorry to read that...

NC is nice. Living 6 miles from the track is awesome. That is a retirement dream for me.

Piedmont Dragstrip was once co-owned by Herb McCandless, who lives about 20 miles from me. I spoke to him recently. He isn't in business anymore but told me that he has quite the stash of Mopar parts. He said that when he has time, I can drop over and look around to see if there is anything that I might be interested in purchasing. I can't wait for that phone call. And yes, I will take pictures if he allows me to.

The Napps are the sons of Vinny Napoliello.
They shortened their name.

WOW!! I didn't know that. I guess the change in ownership that I remember was from the father to the sons? Learn something new everyday, thanks.
