So a little back story for those who didnt read my previous post....

So, my wife Carly has been looking for a 350Z as a scoot about car for a while, she is also a muscle car/rod girl. We were actually on the way to look at a Z when we got the Bee at a local specialty car dealer last year.

So, fast forward to last Saturday. We went out to look at another Z car. Of course we have to go past the same car lot on the way to look at the Z car, and of course we have to stop to see what cars are in stock.

They have some neat ones there, some 442's, Vette's, a really nice 58, Camaro's etc, along with a stock 38 Ford, a 41 Pontiac and a 41 Chrysler. Well, she fell in love with the Chrysler.

Its a 41 Chrysler coupe body, with a 37 Chevy nose, which is good, cause i dont really like the wide front ends on 30's and 40's Chryslers. It has a 350/350/12 bolt and frame from a 77 Monte Carlo. Cant win em all i guess. Great stereo, bucket seats, AC, solenoid doors, air shocks, etc.

I may research and see what has to be done to mount a 318 or 340/727/8.75 on a Chevy frame and put the Chevy drivetrain in my sons 79 Monte.

They want $25,000 for the car....... So, we put a down payment on it yesterday, and they are going to do some things to it, oil changes, etc, so we should have it next week, but here they are together.

Congrats, that's a really nice car.

For what it's worth, unless you were going to swap in something exotic (early Hemi?) I'd just as soon leave the Chevy drivetrain in it. Probably runs great and you can practically get parts for it in the supermarket while you're doing your food shopping. Just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.............

Good luck with it whatever you decide.

Real glad for ya both, Hi To Carly to! Hope ya both have fun in it..Ron

congradulations. its a sweet looking car.
you know my opinion on cross bred power from your previous post.
you don't have to rush into it. just plan it out and assemble the parts.
good luck with it. the most important part about the swap is have fun with it and work your plan.:icon_cheers:

How do you get your Wife to enjoy the same things you do????

She was a car girl way before i new what a Mopar was, shes 10 yrs older and grew up in the Bay area.

Her first car was a 66 Charger, then a 70 442, then she had a big lifted 77 GMC 4x4 truck with 41's on it during the truck craze in the mid 70's

How do you get your Wife to enjoy the same things you do????

Most wives do enjoy the same as us i thought, Better question would be how to get wife to enjoy the cars we do?? The answer to that however, im still waiting for! Mine loves to ride in mine but she gets the same thrill in it as riding around in the truck only cause im driving, her feet on dash with music taken in everything, she gets the thrill out of how I FEEL while driving mine. good question... Most women aren't car gals by love of old cars, i believe them to be in the minority so to speak.. Carly is one of the exceptions, i know one personally but most are not ive found out, and i did say most, not all.

Do I spy "candy Apple Red" on that beautiful vehicle?

I think it is candy apple red and silver with some metal flake in both. Cant wait to take the 69 and the 41 out on a evening drive together.

She has cars in her blood, she grew up in Modesto/Santa Cruz/San Jose and was able to do the "real" American Graffiti cruising up and down McHenry and A, B, C etc streets.

All her friends in Modesto still have their cruising cars they had in high school, some sweet stuff around there.

We were down there visiting her family one summer in June and went to the Back to Graffitti show, holy wow, there are a ton of cars that come from all over the area. Muscle cars, Classics, Rods, even real Gassers and Altereds cruising down the city streets.

Man, I envy you for sure. My wife doesnt understand cars at all...she just wants them to run and thats all she cares about. She has no idea why I have cars running through my blood or why I feelthe way I do when I fire up a newly rebuilt engine for the first time. Or even understand why I have to take a corner at 65 miles an hour. She thinks I am childish to mash the power pedal to the floor and burn a 1/4 inch of rubber of the back tires cause that is wasting money. It is a constant battle with her to buy parts and to finagle time to work on the cars. She has no concept of the cost it takes to actually build a car....its a never ending battle.

Your wife is one of those that you keep forever and never let go. She is one of those that understands the hobby. If I ever met her...Id just give her a hug....just because of making your life easier.

Cheers!

Nice New Toy !!

As my father beat into my head....

" The happier you keep the womenfolk, the better your quality of life will be."

He definitely knew what he was talking about!
