Has anyone installed electric cut-outs on their 1970 Roadrunner or GTX. If so how do they sound when they are opened? The u-tube demonstration sound is not real impressive. I already have flow masters with 3" pipes and it sounds pretty loud as it is especially when the 6 pack kicks in. But would like to have open header sound for burnout effects which I seem to do often. Also what brand or design is best fit for this application?

Happy Memorial Day to all our military brothers.

I've got them fitted on my Road Runner, same exhaust too, 3" pipes to the bumper with Flowmasters.
Exhaust is loud with the cutouts closed but it's alot louder with them open.
They don't make any difference to the ET on the track but they're good fun on the street.
I got the Summit brand throttle valve type.

Thanks guys, yeah hope I need ear plugs when in use. They would only be opened to put on a show for short stints. Just want to make sure the sound remains a true muscle tone and not just flat loud like a deisel truck or something.

Any other brands run out there besides the Summits for comparison.

My just put on QTP electric cutouts on his 70 440 Cuda and I just saw him at a car cruise tonight. He gave me a listen and they sound awesome. Hid the switch in the ash tray. He has hedman headers and also installed an H-pipe. I'm considering doing this myself, loved the sound, don't worry it was nothing like a diesel truck. Check out QTPs.

I have them on my 5.0 Pinto!
They are open headers when they are open.
