Factory correct looking under carraige (primer with overspray), what process and materials are you using?

Coincidentally, I just received a large order of SPI epoxy and white SS paint. I’m going to try it out and see how it compares to PPG DP.

This is my '71 Duster, done in the spring of 2022. I used 3 coats of PPG DP50. The over spray is single-stage (EV2). I used a bit of thinner in the primer. It has a satin finish with a very slight texture. It dried to a more bluish-gray. I have a $100 Astro gun, don't remember what the tip was. Also can't remember if I scuffed between coats. Since it's under the car it won't be subject to UV rays so it should last forever.

That said, if I ever do a correct-type restoration I'd use the Resto Rick paint for sure. A friend of mine used it on the spectacular restoration of his '68 Coronet. Looks really good.

The bottom of the Duster here was clean clean clean. Took off the factory undercoating with a torch and scraper, was a lot of effort. Some areas where there was surface rust and/or hard to reach were blasted with a cheap HF blaster using black beauty media. Once the undercoating was gone the factory 'gray dip' primer was evident underneath and I left it where possible. I used cheapo truck bed liner in the wheel wells. Not 100% correct but close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades.

As I said mine is going to be a nice driver so I don`t need it 100% correct but I do want the correct look and not a fully body color painted underside like most do. I am worried about how the epoxy will hold up both chalking and chipping so I`ll at least spray a matte clear over everything or maybe a gray single stage and just clear the overspray. My car only has undercoat in the wheel wells and I will reproduce that, the Resto Rick stuff is about the same price as Raptor liner so t`s kind of a toss up there.
