1964-65 426 Wedge 4-Barrel, also known as the Commando 426, 426 Street Wedge or 426-S. These were also used in the rare '64-66 Dodge CSS/HPP Pickup. Click here for more info on these trucks. The Plymouth versions (maybe only the '65 Fury) used a decal calling out the engine as "Commando 426". Cars and trucks with cleaner air package (CAP) had nipple to connect to breather cap.
Note, this air cleaner looks similar to 1967-early 1968 A-body 383 unit except that it is chrome and has a smaller area around the wingnut.
Chrysler Plymouth utilized two diff boosters in 64, the Bendix & the Midland Ross. The Midland Ross unit was used on the 64 Sport Fury and other B body's. #2525427
Ok I contacted the AACA library to see if they had any original photo's of the 426-S. They came up with just two in a 64 Polara. I was able to obtain a couple things from the photos such as plug wire loom position right of temp sender and fuel line to carb which showed no filter above valve cover. I have seen a filter there about middle way in the past. Now to figure out if dip stick was painted or natural.
