Hey all. Both my Chargers have regular clear glass, was tint an option in '66? If so, was it still the pale blue? My '59 chevy had the factory blue tint and I loved the look. I live in FL and am considering tinting the car next year BUT only if I can do a passable job of making it look factory. Otherwise it stays clear and I just suck it up. Any info/pics on what factory tinting would have looked like would be greatly appreciated.

My '67 has factory tinted glass. I believe that part of the factory air conditioning option.

Tinted glass was available separately.
IIRC it came standard with AC.
Also, I believe a tinted windshield only was an option.

Factory light green tint. It's pretty subtle.

Good way to check color is with a sheet of white paper on the inside of the glass on a sunny day.
I am 100% certain about the red car being clear glass, but the green one could possibly have tint. Sadly it is very dusty, immobile, and tucked in a dark garage haha. I am starting work on it very soon, and I may use the white paper trick and a flashlight or something to test it.

I had my Charger custom tinted this year with ceramic.
It's turning into more of a restomod as each year passes so I'm not concerned with originality.
The tint really helps cut down on the interior temperature and an added benefit will be saving the dashpad, carpet etc...

Can you see the tint on the drivers door glass? Someone before me replaced the drivers door with one from an AC car.

I remember reading the options years ago and for the front windshield there was clear, clear with the top tinted, all green and green with the top tinted. Side and rear was clear or green.

I had a '64 dodge and the rear windshield was broken. I couldn't find a all green like it had and settled for a all clear. A year later I found a all green in the back of a junk car. The car was black and it just didn't look right with the clear.

This picture is great, just what I was imagining. Looks a lot like my '59 Chevy, so I was not too far off base.

My 1967 Coronet R/T with green tinted glass. My car only had tinted windshield originally, but with Daffodil Yellow colour, I knew all tinted glass would look great. My 1964 Polara 4-door hardtop with tinted glass. I had a factory A/C parts car with the tinted glass, and transferred it all to this car. I have also installed Vintage Air in this Polara.

Same with my current GTX. Factory A/C car, most had tint all the away around, but my dad ordered a factory A/C Dart in 1973, and specified clear glass all around as a delete.
