I bet Jay. On the bright side, at least you're gainfully employed to be able to shove cash
into your Roadrunner...
Worked off and on the roadrunner this weekend...
I rust Bullet coated around the Pleneum areas and brought down the cented of the inner cowl with some 150 grit, getting ready for primer..
Mixed up some PPG 2K Urethane primer I mixed as a sealer, sprayed and then wet sanded down with some 500 Grit in the center section of the inner cowl where actual body color paint is going to be applied. I applied 3M brushable seam sealer around the pleneum base on the outside and inside. After that, sprayed some weld through primer on the mating lips that will be welded to the outer cowl.
So I've been thinking about a color for this car ever since it arrived in my driveway..
Red, Blue, Silver, Black... As soon as I would get comfortable with the idea of a color for the car, another color would spark my interest.
Since the inner cowl needs body color paint in the center where you can see through the outer cowl vents, it was time to pick and apply a color for the car.
So...........Old Skeletor is going to be painted.............................
Yep! Black!! Just like my dad's back in the day. In my opinion, black really makes a car look mean! Especially a roadrunner
After all dried, I applied 3M Body Schultz around the painted areas on the inner cowl
As well as getting the inner cowl all set for the outer cowl to go on, I got one of the Auto Rust Technicians "Safe T Cap" jigged up and welded on the torsion bar, front rail junction. They accidently sent me two left side caps, so I should receive and weld on the right side some time this week.
Wire wheeled down to bare metal the entire interior pan areas up to the start of the trunk pan and scuffed down the E-Coat on the new pans with some 180 Grit, getting ready for a layer of rust bullet..
Got the whole area coated and then applied Evercoat seam sealer to all the seams. I have to admit the evercoat seam sealer lays on much easier than the 3M.
